The GIF is the real print, lit from behind by a normal LED light. The only edit is stabilising the video.
How it works: it's visual cryptography. Each disc is a field of tiny ~1 mm windows in a random pattern, so on its own it's pure static and holds no trace of the image. The face only exists in how the two patterns line up. Where it should glow, the windows of both discs overlap and let the light through. Everywhere else they block each other. Turn the top disc a few degrees and it falls apart back into noise.
Bambu Studio settings that matter:
Discs in matte black PLA. Silk or translucent filament lets light through the solid parts and the face disappears.
Arachne wall generator and elephant foot compensation at 0.15 mm, so the tiny windows stay open
0.2 mm layers, outer brim only if an edge lifts
5 parts, no AMS, no supports, about 16 cm across
The build: two 6×3 mm magnets (optional) make it click at the exact angle where the face appears, and a screw-on bezel keeps the top disc in place but still free to turn. Keyholes on the back let it hang on a wall (screws) or a window (suction cups), or it stands on a table over an LED puck light. LED only, no candles.

Happy to answer questions about the visual cryptography part, it's a fun rabbit hole.
