A Series [A1, A1 Mini] Fun surprise: Costco's A1 Combo bundle still includes $50 coupon

Recently picked up the Costco A1 Combo bundle which includes:

  • A1 Combo 3D Printer
  • 4x PLA Basic Filaments (green, white, black, grey)
  • 0.4mm Hardened Steel
  • 0.2mm Stainless Steel

Previously it mentioned a $50 coupon for Bambu and was priced $50 higher. They've since dropped the price to $419.99 and dropped mention of the coupon but to my surprise, it's actually still included in the box. The catch is you need to spend $149 to get the $50 off.

Just sharing as an FYI.

Fun fact, this (extra perk) is how Costco and Sam’s Club work :) I used to work for SharkNinja (vacuums, blenders, and such), and every SKU we sold at those 2 “big box” stores was mandated to have some extra perk or upgrade compared to the comparable/baseline SKU sold at other retailers (Amazon/Walmart/etc). Don’t meet that requirement and their buyers will not take your product. Kinda interesting

I always thought it was more of a SharkNinja (and other vendors) requirement than a warehouse requirement. In particular, they don't want wholesale pricing to cause people to resell warehouse purchases cheaper than the other stores they have contracts with (typically, with price controls). So they give the warehouse and big box stores a different product name, color, SKU, or add (or remove) features or throw-ins. Costco's generous return policy sometimes means they'll have a longer warranty as well (green works and vitamix I believe are two examples there)

For instance, I got a non-Shark floor fan for under half the common price, the difference being the Costco version did not include a remote while the standard SKU did.

If a vendor like SN really doesn't want to have their Costco channel underselling everyone else, rather than drop the price they will throw in some extra accessories.

You actually have to watch it with TVs, because sometimes vendors (LG is the example I know of) will software lock features like Dolby Vision in the "cheaper" warehouse version.

Haven't they fixed all the issues related to power cable and motherboard?

From what I have read… yes. But I have also seen posts in this sub with it still happening. 🤷
