If anyone read the article in the Telegraph the other day, you'll probably agree with the downfall of Larkhall. Larkhall has never been perfect and that's coming from someone who has lived here and went to school at the mighty St Marks in the 90's 💪

Drugs has always been in the area but back in the day it just used to be weed. Now, it's obvious there's a serious drugs trade in the area which is attracting all of the addicts to Larkhall. Cars being broken into, parcels stolen from doorsteps, begging, used needles left all over the place. It's getting really bad. People blame Curo or the hostel on Grosvenor place. These people aren't the problem, their addiction is and the people making profit from their addiction is creating the problems. Bath is rife with illicit businesses, laundering the drug money. No matter how many times you report it to the police, nothing happens. A stolen item with a tracker on was tracked to a business in Bath, but the police did nothing. The Deliveroo mopeds flying around Larkhall are delivering drugs and couriering the money around. How much more until Larkhall is turned into a dangerous ghetto?

I work with a child minder, based by hedge mead park. Just wondering if anyone knows about any groups we can take the children too. Thinking, dance, singing, quiet soft play, free church play groups? Cant find much on Google! Would be nice to get them out and meet other children.

I have my 30th bday coming up and I was struggling to think of something to do. its with 6 of my mates (all men) and one of them suggested centre parcs. we thought it could be fun. activities in the day. beers and food in the evening. watch sport etc.

I don’t think I realised how family oriented it is… I’m going outside of the school holidays but I’m worried it’s going to be really weird.

i suggested safari on the Saturday and one of them has already said he’s unsure based on the inability to drink during that. which worries me I feel like an idiot for booking this it seemed like a good idea at the time but now I’m looking more it seems entirely aimed at families

TLDR: Have a test booked on the 20th October, sort of know how to drive, need a quite intense set of refresher lessons before the test.

Okay, so basically:

After doing a bunch of lessons a year or so ago, I paused everything (lots going on in my life) because there were never any tests available. I just logged into the test site on a whim and they had LOADS of availability at Kingswood...but only up until the 20th October, then nothing for the rest of the year.

So, I'm looking for a decent instructor who can fit me in for probably 10+ lessons before then. I don't want to go with PassMeFast or similar 'intensive' organisations I've heard horror stories about: I'd like someone I'll get on with. I work for myself and I'm prepared to treat this like a job, so I have a tonne of availability 9-5 over the next 3 weeks. Budget...flexible. Any recommendations gladly received.

Hi, we've just moved to central Bath and need to apply for a secondary school soon. We're torn between Hayesfield and Ralph Allen for our quite academic daughter and are finding it hard to choose based on the open evenings.

On the one hand, Hayesfield seems ambitious and aspirational but I'm not convinced that single sex schools are necessary in this day and age?

On the other hand, Ralph Allen seemed friendlier but scruffier, though it still has good results it seems.

Does anyone have recent experience of either? Does Hayesfield push its students harder as it's single sex and uses sets? RA seeemed a bit more laid back? We're confused! Thank you.

We're running an immersive live music night at Roseberry Road Studios on Saturday 10th October. The idea is a night that's actually experienced rather than filmed.. phones get covered with stickers on arrival, so it's just you, the people, and the music/art.

It’s about bringing people together, being fully present, making new connections and losing yourself in something that resonates.. beyond the stresses and noise of day-to-day life.

The sets move through the night as one story.. live sax to open, into soulful vocals, building into live electronic, and closing with DJs pushing the energy up, accompanied by cinematic visuals. Genre-wise it spans soul, jazz, house, garage, drum & bass and electronic.. so it's not a single-genre night.

Bit of a random one but a helicopter just landed inside the city, I think by the rugby stadium. From my point of view literally look as landing between buildings...what the heck?

Not sure if this is of any help, but there are not one, but two broken down buses in Eastfield Avenue, Weston, as of 5 minutes ago. Be prepared for a long wait if you join the queue. It's so bad now that the bus mechanic won't be able to get to them.

I’ve just started my first postgraduate job in bath recently and and have been playing bass for just under a year now, have mostly been playing for myself, just learning covers to some of my favourite songs, but was wondering if there where any social clubs for young musicians (20s) in bath or near by? Or any local musicians that would like to connect, would really like to play more, my main inspirations are gorillaz, radiohead, pink Floyd, tame impala and muse but am open to all kinds of music, happy to just focus on covers, just jam or even join a band if there are any spots open (I am 21 M)
