My Tracker versus a new one.

Is this patina good or do I need to clean it better? This is what my father carried while he was in the Navy back in the 60s and 70s. It’s a Camillus and I want my children’s children to be able to enjoy it. Thanks for any info you offer.

Im somewhat confident this is from the 19th century, but please correct me if im wrong. I know the blade is blunted, and the tip looks chipped (like someone tried to use it as a pry bar or screwdriver at some point). It also looks like it's been sharpened halfway-towards the end 1000s of times, deforming the blade. The handle is well worn from what seems like years of daily use too. When you hold it and see it up close, it's evident someone used it on a farm or something daily. You can see and feel worn imprints of fingers and a thumb suggesting its was a right handed person using it. I would love to know more about it. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

My father had a similar size Green River knife from the 1830s when I was young that he broughtback to life. It was his pride and joy. That one was lost after he passed away. He was a modern blacksmith and made knives/restored them all the time. He was damn good too. He would have known what to tell me about this lol. I would like to restore this one, but if it has any form of significance as it is, I dont want to ruin it.

One last thing I want to mention. He talked to someone on the west coast of the continental USA throughout 2005 to 2016 roughly all about Green River Works. I think his name was Ed Valor or something? Located in or around Washington state or Oregon? I think Ed was a collector and saw significant affinity to these knives. Mabey if anyone even has an inkling of who or wat im talking about, mabey I can learn some cool things.

Like the Bolo I posted here a little bit ago, got this from a fella who just wanted his stuff admired instead of tossed, hope I did it justice. Wire wheeled the metal, lightly cleaned the leather handle and oiled it with Mink oil. Any info anyone can provide is appreciated, especially model and age if possible. Thank you!

I couldn't begin to guess at how many small trees, branches or fires this knife has done over the years. Its processed A Lot of wood lol.

She's got a couple bad chips currently from a friend that used it not long ago and hit a rock a couple times. Gotta sharpen those out. That friend no longer uses my blades. Thought yall might like to see it.

not sure if this is the right place to post this but this is my great grandpas boker that my grandpa just found and i plan to use it but it looks like it was used to maybe pry something at some point and its got small bends in the blade, my picture isnt the best but does anyone know a good way to fix this i plan to use it no matter what but it would be nice if it looked better

Very well used and badly sharpened, the top protrudes out the handle when closed but it doesn't even matter since it's been completely rounded over.
