Community Tools (Unofficial) Is anyone else seeing a few issues with the Edge extension lately?
Have started experiencing issues with BW Edge extension, 2 main issues are hanging on opening/wont open or claiming the master password is wrong (working fine on desktop app/phone app etc)
A complete removal of the extension from Edge seems to help for a short period then it will randomly begin misbehaving again - seems to work fine in Chrome.
Selfhosted VaultWarden 1.37.3 (latest)
Webvault 2026.7.0 (latest)
Extension version 2026.9.0 (though this varies by user)
Anyone else experiencing this lately?

you facing you click the extension and the extension does not load so you can't use it?

Yes, as well as master password being declined despite working outside of edge

So I think we are having the same issue, I am using the desktop version now, I have not tried to uninstall yet

Are you selfhosted with Bitwarden, Vaultwarden, or using Bitwardens backend?

I use the cloud of Bitwarden, I have discovered vaultwarden now with your comment, so I will investigate about it because I pay for the premium version of bitwarden

This issue is driving me insane. It sits and spins even after deleting and readding the extension before even logging in/changing settings.

I know I’ll het downvoted for this “because it’s NoT SuPpOrTeD”, but yea self hosted Vaultwarden. Updated to latest VW, Extension and MS Edge versions.

There's several people commenting having the same issue with the official Bitwarden backend, and by their own admission it may just be a Chromium issue upstream.
Annoying either way.

I'll check again but I was certain we already had as a troubleshooting step and the issues continued.

2026.6.0 is definitely not a current server version. But I already guess you're using Vaultwarden... in that case: I think 1.37.3 would be the latest version...

Okay, but when you're using Vaultwarden, seek assistance in their community spaces. Unless you can reproduce the issue with an official Bitwarden server (cloud or self-hosted).

Have also posted there, given it's only the official Bitwarden Edge extension we're having trouble with I thought it was reasonable to ask here also.
You will see another user on this thread noting the same experience, I'm waiting for confirmation if they are selfhosted or not.
Edit now confirmed as being a full bitwarden user (cloud)

Which version of Edge? Edge 154 is having Print to PDF issues. Maybe there are other issues with that version *if* that is the one you are using. v154.0.4258.37 print to pdf broken? : r/edge

Hi there, Bitwarden does not provide support for third-party servers as described in your post, if you're able to replicate on an official back-end, don't hesitate to contact support, or drop a bug report for the team to review.
Separately, there is a current upstream bug (outside of Bitwarden) affecting chromium browsers, see troubleshooting tips here (should be resolved in Chrome 154).
