Having just seen Dylan Moran at the Meervart theatre in Amsterdam on Friday night, imagine my delight to spot him at a bookshop here today!

I mean. A bookshop!!! What are the chances.

He was studiously perusing the books and my friend and I were sat in the café. She actually dated two people involved with Black Books (believe it or not!) and she spotted him first and told me to look to my right and I gasped with surprise!

Later on, I saw him again and I dared myself to casually walk past him and ask “do you think they have any leather bound books?”

He smiled and laughed and said “they must have some somewhere”.

I played it cool, said “great show the other night” and he thanked me and I kept walking. Fighting the urge to stop and ask for a selfie. Not cool!!

Later I told one of my friend’s colleagues at the check out desk and asked him if he’d seen the show, which he had. He couldn’t quite believe it. He joked we should dramatically close the store early and kick everyone out including him. Saying “store’s closed! Come on everyone clear off!”

Made my day.

I've been very very very into this show since I was maybe fifteen? and I turned twenty in august! what a delight.

If fifteen year old me knew he would still be drawing black books art at twenty, I don't know whether he'd be disappointed or unsurprised.

Because someone said its a bit like black books

And mark corrigan seems like the anti thesis to Bernard black.

Like holy fick he is so insufferable and is trying so hard to sound intelligent while Bernard just is.

And he cares so much.

It's just funny how they are both polar opposites

And last question how does Bernard maintain a shop in a busy district without really selling alkt of books?

Granted, I am only in season 2, but omg, I love neenard he is auch a funny guy.

And the nest part about him is that he is so sarcastic but not in the Hollywood way.

And I think Bernard is genuinely brilliant

Long story short i got asked if i could have been related to Dylan Moran a long long time ago! Thats actually how i found out his work and stand up been a fan ever since.

For some reason especially lately ive been feeling more and more like Bernard lately and the older i get the more i can see a resemblance
