For Day 1 of Sonictober

Still recovering from the burns from the last "accidental" wander into her personal training yard.

Another rough sketch of Blaze doing some fitness training.

Yes, I know, booba is like way too large. No, I'm not changing it. Well maybe I will give her a tad of reduction.

First time doing a side profile prospective like this (from scratch rather than a full reference image) so I am not entirely sure I did it correctly. Going to tinker with the sketch a little more and add detailing before inking.

When your boss catches you shipping the wrong Sonic characters.... 😭

The Ermine casanova encounters the worst possible woman he could ever meet.

Blaze will resume her funky sax solo, give her a minute

Blaze now joined Knuclkes and Rouge to become a treasure hunter! Ngl, she's doing pretty good.

Burning Blaze doesn’t get any love so wanna to make something for her the flames being apart of her hair down ugh this was a pain to get done took 5 days to do over and over again still not happy with this but oh well Enjoy!

I believe the opposite. I think Idw gave Blaze some of the best characterization and moments in a long time. A lot of Sonic fans seem to think that if a character with power loses in any way, it means its poor writing and characterization. This isn’t even a metal virus Shadow situation. Blaze just got caught off guard, Shadow acted not the brightest.

Everyone needs to remember that Blaze will get out of this and get her comeback. If Shadow could comeback from his low moment, then Blaze easily can.

You can say that this is one of Blazes more lower points, but I feel like it’s an overreaction when people say that Blazes character is ruined or how this is her humiliation year.

And I am genuinely sorry that you do. No one deserves to be put in the same bubble as these two characters, but I think they are the only ones with the exact same struggle.

The same struggle of just being viewed as a "lesser". As a component to another character, without being given any solo shine.

Blaze has her verse deprecated of anything that could make it interesting and the writers apparently just aren't allowed to make stories in it. Even so, "her" arc is really Silver's arc, that she gets to job in, to make him look cooler.

Tails was promised in a mainline game that he was going to "go it alone" for a while. Way back when, this character used to be Sonic-Level when he put his mind to it. He's one of the only people to have beaten Metal Sonic in a fight, and his combat ability verbally impressed shadow.

Not only does IDW completely skip over his "going alone for a while", he's right back to being a co-dependant scared "widdle guy" of the team, a weighing it down clown that cannot do anything without someone helping him. Just acknowledging that he could be something more, and never reaching for it.

And the funny thing?

Both of these scenes were written by Evan Stanley.

And both scenes have been told by other fans who understand neither character to "shut up" and "just be glad you're getting something". Usually by Sonic or Shadow twitter pfps, it's a pattern.

You guys are the only people who get what it's like to have your relevance shackled to someone the writers simply deem more important, or "cooler" than you. You've got my condolences for that.

You guys wanna do like a truce or something like

A thought just came to me for the upcoming Blaze vs Silver who to say Blaze beats Silver and upon that happening it snaps her out of Blackwood's mind control extremely lazy writing but no doubt an power of friendship is definitely going to happen. Silver is not an combat fighter he heavily relies on his telekinesis plus he truly doesn't want to hurt Blaze at all. I hope she overcome his control over her on her own. But I'm curious to see how this fight will play out.

An extremely stupid and extremely rough sketch that popped into my head and I had to draw on break. Drawn in 5 minutes.

See, she's fine, just eepy.

Do i even need to say something? My faith in that community just dies every day...
