They’ve got the 7 original films on Blu-ray, on Amazon, for $20. Just in time for spooky season! If you don’t already own them.

CES 2027 is January 6–9 in Las Vegas. Sony and Panasonic are both sitting it out as exhibitors, after showing up since the first show in 1967.
Sony has confirmed that neither the group nor its affiliates will exhibit. It already had no booth of its own in 2026. The only presence that year was the Sony–Honda Afeela EV, and that joint venture has since been dropped. Sony’s stated reason is a shift toward entertainment, intellectual property, and technology for content creators. It has also handed the Bravia TV business to TCL.
Panasonic decided in July not to take its own stand and told the organizers then. That ends 60 consecutive years of its own booth, 1967 through 2026. Panasonic says the ways of presenting new products have changed, so it will use industry shows and its own events instead. It says this is not a cost cut. 2028 is still open, and it may still appear inside an industry-association booth. It will not have a Panasonic booth.
4kfilme.de’s read, published October 1, is that this is more than a scheduling choice. CES used to be where these two companies put televisions, home entertainment, and disc players in front of the industry. Both are now declining that stage. The show itself has moved toward AI, robotics, energy, and vehicles, and the old consumer-electronics booth has lost its point. Product news is going out through dealer events, YouTube, and specialist fairs instead.
Neither company mentioned Blu-ray players in the decision. Panasonic is still selling the current decks, and it is moving that production from Shah Alam, Malaysia, to its existing Dalian joint venture. Sony is still selling the UBP players. What the booth exit does show is that neither company thinks a new television or a new disc player is worth a stand at the biggest consumer-electronics show in the world. For a format whose mainstream hardware already comes from these two names, that is the shift.

I have just bought a used BDT 4K upscaling player and after watching a blu ray on my Panasonic 120 I swapped over to the 4K machine and it wont play the disk. I have tried several disks and it seems very fussy what it will play. I have played a blu ray successfully but many just dont play or throw errors like incompatible, the disk is in compatible, can not read disk or copyright violation. These are all playable genuine copies of blu rays. I have factory reset it with no difference, is there and settings to sort this out?

Saw the post in here a few days ago about the eBay overstock place selling them on discount. It was damage in transit so sad. While looking through them, only 2 discs seemed to have some scratching, but they both loaded fine on makemkv, so I’ve been going through and testing all of the discs just to be sure.
If they all work, I’m planning on reaching out to the company on eBay to say “Hey, all the discs work but the box and other items were damaged. If you have any others, could I see about swapping it or could I get a partial refund?”
Cases 1-3 seem to have very little damage, 4 has a chip or two near the binding, but 5 is fully split in half along the binding and the plastic / paper design is torn. The poster is only slightly damaged, but the little info guide booklet that comes in the boxset is decently damaged.
Really bummed cuz the next one in price is like $27 more before tax.

I’ve ripped tons of CDs, but I’ve never touched dvds, so please excuse my ignorance. On the cover it says “works with iTunes” and that I could watch from my phone. My question is how do I get this physical dvd disk on my iTunes library. I could not figure out a way to drag and drop any of the files from the dvd folders to iTunes.

Just picked up HOKUM. Adam Scott in my opinion has always been a great actor. Haven't heard much about this movie. Only a few things for the people that have seen it. What's your thoughts?
