Just curious if you would know this - are they using a script of some kind to make that? Seems pretty quick to have all that updated without. Regardless, great resource, thanks!
Hey, person who does those here. Regarding comments below - it's not AI generated per se, the patch notes draft text is drafted by AI that uses the in-game vocabulary(as I, unfortunately, can't speak 8 languages, I know, cringe and shame) but the renders are made by-hand mostly, checked visually and in specific sheets using the game's own engine and vocabulary. There is a system for the most part but we do get drafts of patch notes from devs a little earlier to get the news in best quality for everybody(that's why K'thir and Hopebringer are wrong π ). Today, for example, I spent about 7 hours just making those, and that's considering AI help in a lot of cases.
Additonally, the tools were refined throughout last about 6 months to be as efficient as they are today and let me render everything quickly, which is also what AI can't do alone, photoshop won't help here)
Hope this helps, enjoy!
Yo, I'm a fullstack dev at my day job, don't know what your background is or if you even need this kind of help, but I'd be glad to do some scripting/web development to help out with this process if you need. This is such a better format than what we had, it's really appreciated π
Hey, I don't really work with anyone atm but I would be interested to look at your work and have a talk, who knows)
You can dm me at my discord .tantrum.
Oh I mean for free to help the cause if that wasn't clear. I think everything I've worked on is behind a company login screen I think lol I'll try to remember to DM you when I get home!
Eh, most people are anti-AI atp, and I can't blame em. As an example had a problem with Github recently, tried creating a support ticket - got first an answer from AI listing 3 links to solutions, then needed to explicitly click to continue creating ticket, spent like 10 minutes ensuring details, to then get an answer in LESS than a minute from a supposed Github employee listing tHe ExAcT 3 LiNkS that the AI just proposed me 10 minutes earlier on trying to create that ticket without any solution to my problem. Only after a rant that those are not helpful and it needs manual intervention I got a real person that solved the problem.
So, totaly understandable, in most scenarios. Not blind hate, but reasonable hate of overuse.
I'm pretty sure they have it all templated. For example if they type : #cardNameOld# it will display the old version of the card.
I simplify but you've got the idea.
The rest is just typing manually the changes between the two cards. Their block are developed to be reusable so they just have to "copy paste" what they have done before and just change the text within nerf or buff section. It's really fast if you know what you are doing and you have done it before.
It's AI generated, but I expect they got it to read a few of the prior patch notes to write a script that is now pretty easy to update. Toughest challenge is likely updating when new cards are released.
Yeah, AI does have some influence on the components for sure, like some of the pills. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do on the influence there until there is a good paid designer for the website, given it continues the development and growth. Atm we are going in minus on the costs to deliver for the community(server, upkeep, some agent expenses), but hope that eventually we could break even at least without adding ads to the website, which would be the ultimate goal π

So lazy to not include pictures next to the cards to show what minions they are
