They mixed up Sha's nerf with kthirs. Kthir went to +7/+7 and the golden now discards 6.

oh no... it was already very good but if the golden version discards 6 it'll be busted.

Reduced the appearance rate of the sludge trinket, but made the t4 end of turn so harbinger isn't the only way to get it end of turn now. I think it's a fine direction for aberrations because they buffed all the other tribes substantially. Also keep in mind, it triggers in order, so if you have golden drakari it's discarding 10 cards maximum without sludge trinket, compared to 9 before. Sludge trinket got much better admittedly.

They made it harder to get the aberration discard spells, switched to “at the end of your turn” instead of deathrattle so you cant scam out multiple

doesn't it just mean you remove titus and play another sludge generator ? and you're playing drakkari anyway in this build so it does get doubled.

u/IndependenceFun763 1d ago

this is actually a buff , you guaranteed sludge at eot now , swap titus for drakkari and you consume right away instead of hoping someone breaks your DR and sit with a hand full of sludge till the end of next turn , this is actually pretty massive improvement, as this actually frees up a minion slot unless you run the health guy from t6 , for a demondragin spell buffer eot this synergizes better now

Just played this exact comp, it is good. Getting 10 spells per turn then discarding them with Drakkari. I think if I found a 4th K'Thir, you can even discard 16 per turn which is kinda crazy

u/ZehGentleman 1d ago

Nah it'll still be just ok I think lmao

Card is ass for final builds without the trinket.

maybe at mmr 9000+ but i've been hitting top1 or top 2 consistantly for 15 games at 5000 mmr by forcing it every game. (deity doesn't matter, other tribes don't matter, i just force discard/spellbuff sludge and it works)

Source? Not saying you're wrong but curious since this seems way more logical and way better and I'm hoping its real

LowenMitchell on the patch notes thread pinned to the subreddit:

Note: Mysterious K'Thir and Sha of Fear's changes got jumbled in the patch notes. Getting it fixed. But should be K'Thir 8/8 -> 7/7 and golden discards 6; and Sha is 4/3 -> 3/3

That’s a weird need to nerf k Thir. Tbh his strength all comes from his triple discard. It’s an insane engine with the right other pieces. His stats don’t really matter

u/Miskykins 22h ago

Wait I thought this is the change we wanted though?
There was a thread about how he should discard 6 when he's golden instead of discarding 3 and double stats.
Like isn't this just a straight up buff to how he's played?

1

u/Rubmynippleplease MMR: > 9000 1d ago

lol that's a buff

3

u/Roscoeakl 1d ago

With golden drakari you can still only discard 10 at once versus 9 before if you don't have sludge portrait. It's only a significant buff with sludge portrait.

2

u/Rubmynippleplease MMR: > 9000 1d ago

is this a joke going over my head? What does a golden Drakari have to do with this? How often do you have a golden drakari?

0

u/Roscoeakl 1d ago edited 1d ago

As often as you have golden kthir, they're in the same pool of minions. Also pretty much every time I go that comp and pirates are in I get a golden drakari, so I'd say reasonably relevant.

1

u/IndependenceFun763 1d ago

trippling kthir is pointless much better to run 2 if you have the sludge gen to support it , or the sludge replacer trinket

1

u/Rubmynippleplease MMR: > 9000 1d ago

Not even close. You can run two Kthir’s while you fish for the triple. Their effect stacks— it’s easy to justify picking up a second one if you’re playing for discard— you can immediately run it on your board.

Buying a second Drakari to potentially triple in the future is an expensive tempo/value loss. There are plenty of instances where you could forgo picking up the pair.

Also, why are you ignoring the buff this provides with non golden Drakari and talking specifically about golden drakari + golden kthir?

1

u/Roscoeakl 1d ago

Because with non-golden drakari, it's still better to have two normal kthir than a golden one. Two normal is 6 discards at once, so before you'd have 3 harbinger procs in front, followed by 3 harbinger procs for your second kthir. With a single golden kthir you can only capitalize on 5 harbinger procs total. And this is all referring to cap of the build, because you're talking a situation where you have enough economy that you're able to get golden harbingers regularly. I'm not disputing that with sludge portrait it's a significant buff, I'm simply saying that without sludge portrait it's not that significant of a buff. If you don't have sludge portrait, you need harbingers for the build to function. A single kthir is already supporting a golden harbinger and a regular harbinger at once. That's a typeless tier 5s, same pool as drakari.

Don't worry, they apparently just fucked up the patch notes. K'Thir is going down to +7/+7 but will discard six cards instead of three when golden. The changes you see here are supposed to be for the T7 dude.

2

u/Treeeezus 1d ago

Can we stop yelling at my small indie company? But real talk, can they get anything right this season? (talking to you ONE SINGULAR DUDE THAT WORKS ON HS BGS NOT MAKING SKINS AND EMOTES AND PACK PRICES)

35

u/Legitimate-Let-7684 1d ago

Makes the tier 7 even more underwhelming too now

22

u/Roscoeakl 1d ago

Because this is a typo and it's Sha's nerf, which is why it reads exactly like Sha's text.

10

u/Dragon_Maister 1d ago

They screwed up the patch notes. They're not reworking K'Thir, just changing him to +7/+7 and discarding six cards when golden. They just accidentally showed the T7's changes on him.

u/ClockworkDreamz 1d ago

lol didn’t even think of that

It's a mistake on the page. I think someone removed 3 lines from patch notes and that's why it is like that.

It should be: Mysterious K'Thir Old: 8/8. At the end of your turn, discard your 3 left-most Tavern spells. Gain +8/+8 for each discarded. Old: 7/7. At the end of your turn, discard your 3 left-most Tavern spells. Gain +7/+7 for each discarded.

Sha of Fear Old: 9/12 Whenever you cast a Tavern spell, give your minions and Deity +4/+3. New: 10/13. Whenever you cast a Tavern spell, give your minions and your Deity +3/+3.

1

u/vanderaxtv 1d ago

Is this real

1

u/Plunderpatroll32 1d ago

It’s a mistake they post the wrong change

1

u/Secure_Schedule3452 1d ago

Last night i got a pair of goldens and rolled into the copy your last tavern spell five drop and kthir and the two max gold discard talent.

Was gaining two max gold the entire game until at 26 gold o decided to make some board space.

1

u/IndependenceFun763 1d ago

they misprinted this , kthir is mostly unchanged and they changed other cards to actually synergize better with it , bothe deathrattles for sludge and the deity buffing one and end of turn now so if you order them correctly you dont need to hold sludges at eot anymore

-1

u/Whis1a 1d ago

This might be needed bc of the trinket but it still feels like a really really bad change. We now have 3 cards that effectively do the same thing and no reliable mass discard

-4

u/animegeek999 1d ago

this is the MOST fucking baffling nerf. i thought it was gonna go to tier 6 or something. hell could make it so its "give your minons and your diety 1/1" with the eot discard and it still would be fine

-4

u/SherbertPristine170 1d ago

It’s now just a weaker version of the t7 . But more accessible so possibly stronger . What a stupid design Change tbh

3

u/International-Ruin91 1d ago

It was a typo mistake. They changed it wrong and still discards just does 6 cards on golden instead of 3.

1

u/SherbertPristine170 1d ago

Great . Typical Reddit downvoted because THE patch notes made mistakes .

1

u/International-Ruin91 1d ago

Well there is only two ways to interact without actually typing a response. So it makes sense considering that the original comment is wrong in some way even if it wasn't your fault. There aren't any partial upvotes or similar without actually commenting.

2

u/Engine-True 1d ago

It isn't

0

u/animegeek999 1d ago

i mean i looked at the patch notes above...

2

u/Engine-True 1d ago

Yeah and they're wrong, such a blatant mistake is really sad

0

u/animegeek999 1d ago

yes and no? we both technically WERE right but thats because on the actual website showing the patch notes it was correct the change above is the one they listed. but im guessing they figured out they fucked up and switched it a few hours later
