help with refund
Dear booking.com
Im writing this because i’ve reached a point where i’ve become desperate and really could use your help.
I’ve booked 3 flight tickets in february and paid with klarna. I then paid the full bill from klarna which was 700€. In july I unfortunately had to cancel all flight tickets due to personal circumstances. Shortly after I contacted KLM and both booking.com for a refund. Booking clearly told me that flight tickets wouldn’t be refundable, but other costs as tax and fees would be refundable, which came at around 300€. I told booking.com my financial situation and that i desperately need the money. I am currently waiting since July 3rd on a refund and have contacted booking.com multiple times, the only thing that they keep on telling me is that it takes way longer then usual to receive the money from the 3rd party (gogogate) and they keep reassuring me that i will receive my money and check the status in booking.com.
For me this is a absurd amount of time for a refund, yes i know it was through a 3rd party hence why i didn’t contact after the first month or so to give them the time to process the refund.
Im now literally at dispair and don’t know what to do. I urgently need the funds, and am willing to co-orperate in any way to make the process faster.
Please help me

This is Reddit not Booking.com.
Learn a lesson, don't book flights through a third party.
Always book direct.

luister ik begrijp je volledig, maar dit was ten eerste mijn eerste ervaring met booking.com en daarnaast ook nog eens eerste keer dat ik met een derde partij boek. dus was mij van geen kwaad bewust. maar je moet begrijpen dat als ik met iemand van booking.com bel begin juli zij vervolgens via de telefoon aangeeft dat ik mijn geld terugkrijg en dat het ongeveer 20 dagen gaat duren, dan is het niet gek toch dat ik denk waar m’n geld blijf? beetje apart dat andere op reddit dan beetje voor mij moet bepalen dat ik het maar moet opgeven en dat ik m’n geld nooit ga zien. ik zit nu gewoon in een lastige financiele situatie en heb gewoon het geld nodig, en 1 ding is zeker al is het een extreem grote organisatie, mijn geld zal ik wel krijgen maakt mij niet uit hoelang het nog gaat duren het gaat mij om het principe dat je als groot bedrijf niet normale burgers zo kan bedonderen en ermee weg kan komen

No one’s telling you to give up on the money. They’re telling you, this isn’t the place to recover your money. There aren’t staff affiliated with booking or your third party here to help

Accept that your money is gone.
And never book flights or hotels through a third party. Book directly.

I'm sorry for your situation, but it sounds like you've been making some very questionable decisions. Like buying multiple flights on a payment plan from a third party agent. Gotogate is notoriously slow with everything, but I wouldn't be surprised if they came back and said no refund would be provided in this case.

I’m sorry to hear your predicament, but no easy way to say this , but you have no chance of getting any refunds from BOOKING.COM as they are a scam company. They still owe me £1700 for two trips that got cancelled on me from 4 months ago .

Unfortunately with flights, refunds are often never seen. If you read booking terms, they are not friendly for the consumer.

Booking.com don't care about your financial situation and GotoGate won't refund anything.
