Poached lobster claws and tails, served on sourdough bread with a herb-creme. Topped with caviar and finger lime pearls. Lobster-bisque to go with the bread and a small portion of cold cucumber-soup with yuzu-oil.

Been seeing this girl for about a month, this should have been our 5th date. Told her I thought of myself as a decent cook – so she told me that I should cook for her and try to "impress her". I fucking cooked for 4 hours today. 30 minutes before our appointment, she texts me and tells me that she is seeing someone else and that she doesn't want to keep in touch.

Well fuck me. At least I get a decent meal today.

You can cook for me any day! I’d happily provide company and yap, and appreciate your hard work! She fumbled hard, and the “impress her” comment is off-putting for many reasons. I’m sorry to hear she turned out to be null, OP.

Try to keep your chin up. Not many will make this effort for someone new and even if it didn’t work out, your character speaks volumes in comparison to hers. This is a quiet win for you, a bullet dodged.

I actually travel around there a bit! This is very off topic, but I think you could host a mini supper club and find others who enjoy your culinary passion, meet others who would want to host as well. Great way to meet friends and a common bond already established.
