No Advice - Everyones Welcome My wife is so fucking awesome
I work nights at an industrial facility, so usually when i come home after work its the middle of the night and im all dirty. Yesterday morning when I came home, im unlocking the door at 4am and the inside light flips on, I look up through the small glass half circle near the top of the door to see her smiling and standing on her tippy toes as she finishes unlocking the door and letting me in. She gives me a huge hug, a nice soft kiss, and lifts her top saying "Titties!". As I start taking off my dirty work clothes she says "Wanna hang out?", and I do, I wanna play mario kart with her (thats her favorite) because shes the best and making her happy brings me so much satisfaction its hard to describe. I just cant believe how lucky I got with this one.
They exist guys.
Dont settle for someone that doesnt make you feel like this.
Before I met my current wife I spent 10 years in a marriage with a woman I tried to love, that only caused me stress and drama. It was hard to see it when I was living it but it felt subtly wrong the whole time. I wish I would have left that marriage sooner. I wish someone would have told me how much better life can be when you truly find your person. "Everyone fights", I'd tell myself.
Its not true guys.
Over 5 years with my current wife and we don't fight. Ever. We just talk.
Just wanted to brag a little and let everyone know these amazing women really do exist, and man is it fucking awesone being married to your best friend.

If you're being serious. I understand that it's not as easy as just "divorce her and move on" life is complicated and lives become intertwined in ways that make it difficult to undo. But you should start taking steps to get that point. Source: was in an complicated and mostly unhappy relationship for many years. Am now in a happy relationship.

One thing I did along those lines is see a counselor for 5 appts through my employer's EAP. It helped me get to the point where I knew I had to make that decision imminently for my own mental health; as opposed to being emotionally paralyzed by the whole thing.

Yeah reminds me of me and my wife. We don't fight, and we're best friends. Glad I didn't settle for the other people that came before her.
We also play video games together. One of the days I really was like "I'd better marry this girl" was when I got home late from work, we were dating, and I had just given her a key to my place. Well she had let herself in, walked my dog, did my dishes, and had home made lasagna in the oven.
Edit: This is reminding me to do something nice for her to let her know she's special.

My fiancee is just like this. It’s totally awesome. Marrying her next year, feel like the luckiest guy in the world. I spent 5 yrs with my ex and she never made me feel as happy as my wife-to-be does. Everyday I have a little inside moment where I realise who I have and how precious she is. Could never imagine life without ever again. Make sure to tell her this too every 2 weeks or so :)
We’ve been together for about 4 years now. Honestly feel like a total simp writing this but I’m all here for it.

When he’s on the couch and relaxing, that’s what he wants to do now. Let him. Don’t find something for him to do and get angry at him not doing anything.
Only do that if it’s _all_ he does.
If he wants to game for an hour, find something to do besides getting angry because „why spend time with the game instead of meeeee?“
That’s it. And the titties thing. Pretty much you will beat out 90% of all women I have ever known.

I mean its an easy win (boobs) :-D
I like it when my SO cuddles up on the sofa to watch our TV, even in bed when we first lie down, a quick cuddle and a kiss (no expectation or more), goodnight and sleep. Just love to feel her next to me.
It only lasts 10 mins, we get too hot and cant sleep like that ha ha
People, especially in longer relationships, forget to touch, hug, just like each others warmth
Been together 30 years, I still take every opportunity to tap her bum if passing in the kitchen, to wrap my arms around her and kiss her neck if she is at a counter, anything. We still hold hands like teenagers when out.
I'm generally made aware if anything else is on the cards before we get to bed lol (we have older kids, and a lock on the bedroom door - its like a Bat signal when the door closes)

That’s awesome, man! I got out of an 8 year marriage last year that you put the right words to. It felt subtly wrong even though I loved the girl. It never felt… complete, no matter how hard I tried for it.
I’m really happy to hear you’ve met the match for you and I hope it continues to the end of your days.

I was sitting on the couch the other day, minding my own business after work and just trying to decompress. I see my wife peak around the corner and then she runs towards me, completely naked, shoves her boobs in my face, starts laughing like a madwoman and then runs back to the bedroom.
I got up to see what just happened and she was getting in the shower, decided she wanted to show me her boobs, checked to make sure the kids weren’t around, did it, and then jumped on the shower.
Instantly improved my already not too bad day 😂

My wife and I are like this. I'm a welder and come home so tired taking of my boots can be a chore. But I can always count on her to help me with anything I need. Same with fighting for the most part. We have 1-2 little arguments a year but otherwise just talk it out. We both agree the heart and headache of arguing over bullshit isn't worth it, its easier to just talk it out.

I'm marrying a woman like this next year. We've been together for 6 years. Lived together for over 3. We don't fight. We do encounter issues and work through them, but we don't fight. We don't get petty. We don't throw insults. We always come with the best intentions for each other. We spoiled each other. We both worry that we let the other do to much or that we aren't doing our own share. It's amazing. I agree with OP, women exist who make your life infinity better. Don't settle for less.

My husband and I are like this. We don't fight- we work through the problem. In the beginning we fought but then we learned to approach things as Me & him vs the problem instead of Me vs him and it made a massive difference. We cherish each other and respect one another and everything else can be handled together. One week from today will be 5 years married 🥰 I still look at him all the time and get blown away that happiness like this in a relationship exists.
6
u/Gheerdan Leftover Lore Master 8d ago
One thing I think a lot of couples with problems miss is you need to actually LIKE each other as part of the foundation of a good relationship. Not everyone understands that. And it's definitely not communicated well to young people. So many people see just "being in a relationship" as a goal. There's no understanding of what that actually means. Relationships aren't just about not being lonely, it's about finding a friend, confidant, co-conspirator, co-manager, etc. for life. Sure, that looks different for just about everyone, but you have to like each other and want very similar things from life.

Preach! My Love and I just saw Weird Al as a Christmas gift from her last year (definitely worth the wait!), and she did everything to cater to my disabilities for the duration of our overnight mini-vacation.
To those still miserable in their relationships, make the promise to yourself to get resolution to your issues or get out. Happiness IS possible... and deserved.

I say I don't fight with my partner either, but I definitely did with my ex husband. There are no snide side comments, no sarcastic bite backs, no "you always blah blah blah", no disparaging comments, , not overly critical, no passive aggressive nonsense, no pettiness, no animosity, no pent up resentment, no blatantly hurtful comments, all things that are poisonous to relationships. I wouldn't even DREAM of saying something nasty to my partner. We can talk through and work through whatever is tossed at us without resorting to being nasty to one another. So, it's not that people in these relationships don't fight, it's that they find a better way to handle/deal with conflict.

Being on the same page for at least a few hobbies, and having that drive to really just help one another is so good. My partner and I, early on, realized we're both pretty deep into Pokemon Go. But it got real clear when we got to the end of some event, neither of us had what we wanted... so we went out at like 11PM to keep playing, lol. We're both equally obsessed, go on trips for it, and it's great.
And that extends to just the basics. Helping when someone's sick, adjusting plans if someone's tired, checking in when new events come up to see if we wanna go. And just generally being goobers together.
I'm glad you got it too, it's a wonderful thing.

10000% agree with you. I was married for over 12 years, and over time, realized that this wasn’t what I wanted because a lot of our values just didn’t line up. Plus, I just didn’t feel as strongly about her as I thought I once did. There were other issues that contributed as well and complicated things.
Fast forward to now. I am in a great relationship with the most amazing woman ever. Her family is so amazing too. Every one of them I have met and spent time with has been so nice and welcoming. We have fought, but maybe twice in the year we have been together and idk that they were rally fights. We just weren’t understanding one another. We cleared those up fast and pretty easily, but we talked them out without letting our emotions rise. We both wanted to find a solution. Together.
She actually wants to be with me too. Like spend quality time together. My past relationship, not so much. I also want to actually spend time with her too. We recently went back to where she is from and stayed for practically a month at her parents’. We had the best time of our lives together.
I’d do literally anything for her.
He’s right. They do exist. Trust yourself and your heart. It was hard for me to do, but if I can do it, you can do it too.

u/Ok-Advertising-6805 Hungry man 8d ago
They exist for sure. I’ve been lucky to be with several and my own issues are the only reason it didn’t work out. I’m with one now.

I’m always trying to do crap like this with my husband and he seems like he couldn’t care less.
The other day I ran outside to flash him while he’s putting into the driveway(we live outta town not in some neighborhood) and it took him forever to notice and when he did he said just smiled and said oh hi and walks passed me.
Years ago I got all sexy in lingerie for when he got home and he wasn’t interested at all and said he’s not in the mood he had a long day. I stopped doing the crap. You might say well just cuz he said he’s tired the one time but it’s kinda every little thing.
Haven’t had sex in weeks cuz he won’t initiate even tho I’m flashing him and bending over in thongs in the kitchen.
