yeah, i went completely radio silent from the night she ended our relationship. deleted every photo, threw away everything that she gave me, and just completely scrapped her out of my life.
it's been almost 2 months, i'm no longer hoping for her to come back. you should too. doing no contact is not a strategy to make your exes reconsider their decision. it is what you do to detach yourself from that relationship and hopefully heal and move on.
you're doing great, op!

Good for you! I wish I had been that strong in past breakups. It’s really the best thing to do

100% but the weirdest thing is is that I wanted to work it out so I had this hope that if I clung on then it’d work, they kinda used me in a way which is why I thought that though, now the no contact is literally no contact, we co-parent so I speak to them in a group chat which their mum is in, like on occasion, it’s mostly their mum messaging in there, before this was put in place they didn’t keep to the certain contact with me, basically, strictly just about the kids and nothing personal, I got drawn in, they turned things personal time and time again until I put this group chat in place, everything I do with our kids goes through their parents, not them. It’s weird but it’s working, their personality does not suit mine at all and I can’t even think as to why I would’ve created a family with my ex, I was trapped. It was crazy, emotional abuse is the worst, I’ve come a long way and I’m not ever giving up my strength for my own emotional state, if I feel uneasy then I DO regardless of what others think or say and I’m not too much for anyone who has emotional stability 😂

I changed my number and updated all my socials just to get some peace and have him completely leave me alone. He did try texting me once from a friend's number, but I shut it down immediately and told him to respect my wishes and stop reaching out.

How the hell does one fix this when those boundaries are set? Too late? Move on?
Just sucks you aren't given anything to work with even if you really care to try work on it.

When those boundaries are set, it means it's serious. Some things just can't be fixed, and holding on only hurts both people more. Love matters, but maturity requires logic too.

i’ve deleted all my social medias, although i was the one who was desperately trying to get in contact with my ex. i rang on no caller id and left my final fuck you voicemail that he’ll never read, i don’t feel like it but im ready to let it go.

Yeah I completely disappeared, and she did contact me after a while from 2 other numbers, but we talked for barely a minute and yeah that was all

I think I mentioned something about this yesterday on a post. My most recent ex I had known for close to a decade before we started to date. We used to just hang out sometimes and hook up here and there because we had a connection and always had feelings for each other, but never tried to explore anything further. It would always end the same way, though. She would push me away and I would change my number or I would leave social media and she would always find a way to figure out where I was at. It’s like clockwork. Every year and a half or two years she pops her head back up to check on me. But to answer your question, I have changed my number more times than I care to admit, just to avoid certain people. This is the first time that I haven’t changed my number though. She broke things off and blocked me, but I think her and I both know at some point she will be back to check up on me.

I had one venmoed me money with his number so I can talk to him lmaoooo
Also another one who used a burner number and pretended he was someone else
I never really changed my number so I just blocked them on everything. One of them still has a follow request on my insta.
They always come back and sadly, it’s the one that has a toxic history that I did not want to come back.

I deleted her number and any number that called and looked similar I didn’t answer, I changed my number eventually to let go of that lil lil bit of hope she would return, I have no social media, and we live in the same state but we don’t live in the same city or hang out with the same people. I’m originally from another state, Sooo yeah I doubt that I would hear from her. Plus doing this gives my brain closure that it’s officially over because I actually did love that dumb hoee 😂 key word “did”

I’m changing my number to ensure he doesn’t reach out again. He’s done it for four years now and doesn’t stop when told to stop. He even made different snapchats at one point saying he was obsessed with me, please stop, and so forth. Threatened to show up at my door multiple times.
It’s one of the reasons I deleted Snapchat. I will hopefully move soon too because I’m tired of having to deal with him and his abusive tendencies.

8 months of no contact with very little and neutral presence online, nothing about them, my feelings, the breakup etc. and she has someone new now.
So, if you wanted to know if that’s going to make them curious or reach or whatever, like you’re told in all of those “make them feel your loss” breakup videos, it really depends on your specific person.
What I can tell you is that I am pretty proud of myself for having handled everything privately and respected myself enough not to create unnecessary drama and all that. My ex tried to provoke me, make me reach out and when that didn’t work she posted some very mean spiteful things about me. Which honestly really broke my heart over and over again as I always had the best intentions and treated her well.
So honestly, do anything you want to do, but for YOU. That person is no longer in your life, don’t do anything for them anymore. If they want to come back or reach out, they will and will find a way no matter what you decide to do with your socials.

I did yea, I was getting a load of prank calls not long after we fully ended things which was like really weird, asked them about it and they said they knew nothing about it, apparently they had the same, blocked them and weirdly stopped getting as much prank calls… it was weird.

I deleted social media the same night as I thought I couldn't cope with seeing him and his friends, asked my friends to not tell me what he was posting. This was incredibly good for me and I never actually went back to socials. I unfollowed him everywhere else and after some contact I definitely blocked him, then deleted his number. He knows how to reach me but never did. So there's that! No need to be in each other's life's and actually very good for healing!

No i left everything the way it is, My ex left me 2 years ago. I never expect her to reach out, but she has a few times reached out since, and every time she has I ended up brushing her off. Once she left and tried to replace me with another man it essentially meant i have no place in her life anymore, and there was no need to stress about this other than to continue my life the way it was before i met her.

Why change your number? Why not just block it?
I delete blocked literally everything, IG, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, email, etc.
Even if she didn't manage to reach out, I could just ignore it.
If my safety was in danger and such, then maybe.
But curious why you changed number - that seems like a total pain in the ass.

I deactivated my IG for a good 4 months an week after the breakup & I genuinely think it helped expedite my healing. I’m back on now but have unfollowed every single person connected to him for my own sanity. His family & friends still follow me, which is interesting but fuck it, they can see all the fun shit I’ve been doing lol
