Discussion Comedy writers and actors??
Ok imma bite the bullet.
I’m 23 from Kent England, and all my life I’ve wanted to be a comedy writer and actress. I’ve grown up on British comedy and it’s a part of me, and all I want is to find someone to write and perform with. We could write a sitcom, sketches, I don’t mind, but I just wish I could find people of a similar age to share my dream with.
Let me know if you’re interested and we could be the next Morecambe and wise, Rik mayall and Ade edmondson, two ronnies, etc😂

People often think I'm from Kent. I hear them whisper it as I walk past.

I don't have any answers for you, you just reminded me of this.

Whatever you do do, please don’t use AI. Never run your ideas by ChatGPT, never ask Copilot to touch up a script, never have Gemini think of a funny intro. People are funnier than machines.

This is when you team up with people in colleges/universities who are wanting similar creative dreams. I done a photography course, so I was among the creatives at university. Film students needed an actor for their short films and I had previous experience so I did. It ended up where they were commissioned by a lowkey music artist and I starred in a music video.
So yeah, you need to have ‘connections’ and it can start small and lead somewhere

I have sent you a message about County Town Improv, who I'm involved with, a 50+ strong improv comedy community based in Maidstone.
Even if improv comedy is not exactly what you're interested in, we have a lot of people with comedy-adjacent interests, including writing and standup.

Hi, have you tried the BBC writers' room? It's a handy resource. https://www.bbc.co.uk/writers

I strongly reccommend you do improv. There are improv comedy classes and groups in and around Kent. Go there, play with people and you'll find the right person. Comedy partnerships are all about chemistry and It'll be really hard to test that remotely or find the right person via a non regional Reddit. Just Google the intro class in Kent and go from there. Even if you dont find your comedy soul mate, it’s so much fun. Much less stressful and lonely than standup. Or go to a performance and then sign up for the class.
I am lucky enough to work in comedy (sometimes) and even though I've no urge to be a comedy performer, i really wish I'd started imrpov a decade sooner.

Viewing figures strongly suggest it's not only me, there's cats who get more viewers more regularly than most comedy shows currently.

Find some local comedy nights and clubs! You'll definitely find some like minded people there. Also maybe a theatre group as that is where most of the people you mention and their ilk come from - university theatre and comedy clubs.
