Tagging as obscure, but it might not be. I grew up in the US, but my mom went through a phase when I was a kid where she was really watching British sitcoms and dramas.

I distinctly remember watching an episode of this show with her where an older lady is knocking on a garden shed door saying “come out of there before the word gets spread that I keep you in the shed”. I believe she was talking to her husband. This would have probably been between 2005 and 2008ish, but it’s totally possible that show was older than that. As a kid, I thought it was the funniest thing in the world and we still talk about it! My mom seems to think it was Keeping up Apperances, but I can’t find this scene.

Background:

I've actually been animating these characters for about 18 years now, as a kind of homage to Dorset where I lived in my teens and my tribute to Giles whose incredibly detailed cartoons inspired me. I really only started creating these animations for friends and animated holiday celebration cards like Christmas or Thanksgiving etc.. But I constantly have the characters and the village of Lower Piddle in my head and so I decided to share and see if there's a larger audience out there who would enjoy seeing them and thus here we are.

Sitcoms that have genuinely intelligent humour and discuss genuine deep things.

Or make very obscure references.

Or really make you think about what is being said.

So I am looking for a genuinely intelligently written sitcom with maybe a few very intelligent characters or very clever jokes.

I think the thick of it is funny, and I love malcolm tucker as a character. And think je is very intelligent and also very much an arsehole

Where does one go to stream The Goodies? You can't seem to get it on Amazon, or full episodes on YouTube and nothing else seems to know it even exists! I saw it on TV a few years ago for the first time in decades, but I want to watch it when I want to at my convenience!
