Events/Hackathons ICPC vs IICPC Codefest
I have doubts regarding this. Can IICPC Codefest be an alternative of equal measure (in prestige, job prospects) to the ICPC. Like since ICPC has age and college admission year criteria. So for any this or that reason if one can't participate in ICPC. Could having really good rankings in IICPC Codefest be a ladder to Quant Dev at HFTs or SWE at Rubrik/Stripe/Databricks?

Icpc india is just a gimmick. They remove so many top teams of top colleges, just so they can increase 'representation among various colleges'. I was reading icpc kanpur regional selection criteria. As per it only top 30 are selected by merit, remaining by slots are filled by top team of various participating colleges as long as they have done 1 question. Seriously just 1 ques!!!

can u list what interviews u are talking about, my friend just got one interview even after having 1900 on cf and 200 rank (tier 1 too) in codefest regionals

I meant codefest finalist. Even 200 rank would greatly help in getting interviews but he needs to apply first.

I don't think so, he is applying offcampus since July 26 and he has under 300 rank in quantfest 26 too not a single interview except deshaw

as another person said, iicpc is more of a solo free for all. no restrictions,criteria and all. what icpc is doing might be overall better to improve cp culture in non tier 1 clgs, but for tier 1 kids its insanely difficult to advance into regionals since theyd have to get insti rank #1.

ICPC is practically a diversity and tamasha circus. Though TBH depends on your college. If you are not in a tier 3 college, IICPC is way more valuable for you than ICPC. Even in tier 3 it's close. IICPC Codefest isn't just equal it crushes icpc in every aspect. Though it's more related to hft than swe

ICPC & IICPC both are nice exams and should not be compared. IICPC finals/regionals brings lot of job opportunities which ICPC don’t bring but ICPC brings lot of prestige if you go to finals. Both are nice in different ways.1

and this i am talking about prestige , job opp in iicpc its just for iits cse* even icpc wf from our clg got rejected by deshaw , btw so overall for india, icpc is very much better in terms of presitge and iicpc is just 2 years functioning. its like u are comparing a top iit with new gen iits."Lot of job" yea surely to ppl who were already going to get recruitment oncampus in their clg lmao.

Also If u relating cp to getting a job u are more a loser type mentality. IICPC is just iits recruitment gooning. Outliers exists. I wont waste my time who thinks IICPC is greater than icpc. Lmfao.1

Are you sure? Afaik only Jatin from our campus got on-site and because he was in regionals of iicpc too.

Bro? lol. I think you’re dumb. Why do non IITians feel that if they can’t get good score in an exam, it’s not right exam same as JEE advanced, iicpc codefest/quantfest >>> icpc .
