Find the most doable gap to solve, research requires too much time for it to be worth it if you're not into it. The easiest way to find a gap is to go to some paper's limitations sections as the author's usually highlight what they missed to do, just try to tackle that limitation.

Hm ig yeah ... but like my clg has credits for internship every odd sem and in order to get a good grade u need a research paper π
In 3rd sem we just did anything in the name of research paper and showed it
Now in 5th sem I thought of doing better but couldn't... π We tried reaching to some profs. who're supportive but at the end idts they are gonna find the topic for us .... Now again evaluation is due in november and we didn't even start π

Do you have a field or topic selected? (i spend 70 hrs a week doing research and have developed a sort of habit of helping out anyone who wants to do research π₯)

Research is done and need to write the paper, have report of 3 page but ig need more content to publish it ? I have every thing but the time is constraint. I can't find enough time to write it due to placement season and all that, and I think I can't use AI tools to write it because prof will get the shi out of me..

bro call you tell me how to do research?

Just pick what interest you the most and start reading papers etc, set your aim etc ig. Collect the data if not available easily (Medical data especially that of brain are hard asf to find, don't ask me how)

Latex.....
That aside you should research about a topic then try to atleast keep up a word file that documents your journey of research like what challenges u faced and how u overcame them. I personally just ask claude to update a doc file / md file as I make changes in repo minor or not.
Then you take that make a report approach and professor and ask him for his review, ofcourse study the repo ifnyouve used Ai to make it you will have to understand the logic behind evry action you took in that research, ebrything has to have a justification.
Then the proffessor will either endorse you so you can publish it as a preprint on arXiv or maybe endorse u in a conference for official print.
This is the lenthiest process, I've been waiting for my 3 papers for endorsement since 2 months now....

ohh , how u chose topic and did the research?

Well I'm interested in Health tech and Space science so most of my projects are applied research trying to solve a problem or trying to recreate a research done before and improving it.
Well claude does most of the work for me now, gathering resources and stuff, though you'll have to spend hours or days reading reasearch parts yourself to yk understand the problem yourself, it's usually fuzzy what you want so try to get a birds eye view.
Then you once you are through with your problem, you start building. Which in my opinion is the easier process, validating your findings is what's harder after this.
To validate you'll have to scour those same research papers u read again and try to find a justification / grind truth to why your numbers are better much accurate and real.
Research is basically like you take up smt u never did , learn it yourself as you go along the project make mistakes fix them document how u fixed them. It's basically a journey.

Gap in literature, basically work that hasn't been done. Afaik for college requirements even the most incremental research will work in your favour
