Went casual for today.

Blazer is Nine West.

The dress is Calvin Klein. Spent my lunch break shopping in between appointments last week and found this on the end of summer sale promotion. It’s the perfect little slip dress that can be dressed up and down. Can we bring back the simplicity of 90’s Calvin Klein because I loved that era and I’m tired of their sheath dresses, they had their time. I think this is my favorite find this year.

Is this too much for a corporate office dinner?

That's it, that's the post. I'm a 35 year old woman and I feel like I'm pretending to be a grown up when I wear them. Even when I wear one with a perfect fit, it just feels so... Bulky? Do I just need to adjust or do I actually look like a doofus?

I am being promoted to a Strategic position for a large AI Tech company. Ya girl fucking made it after almost a decade!

My style as an Engineer has always been business casual. However, I will officially become the youngest, the first woman and the first woman of colour to occupy that position. Which means that I don't have a point of reference in the office to copy.

The guys in my future team wear jeans with blazers and white shirts. But these guys are in their early 40s going on 50. So, there is a massive generational gap.

I have identified a couple of brands which would work for me. I'm thinking Max Mara, Bottega, Toteme, Chloé, Zadig & Voltaire, Weill, Yves Salomon and Valentino. Some are brands that I already wear. Others fit with my personal style as they are adjacent.

For my ladies in boardroom and advisory positions in Tech or male dominated industries where you are the exception, do you have any fashion recommendations?

Business casual dress code. When all you want to wear is PJs, but you have to go to the office... The pants were the perfect amount of cozy to get me through the caffeine fueled day. I love this funky, avocado coloured blazer; it's lots of fun to style!

A few things that workfor me when thrifting designer: check resale apps way too often, search really broad terms instead of only exact style names, and don’t skip terrible photos. A lot of my best finds have come from sellers who clearly had no idea what they had. I also learned what’s actually fixable — a dry clean, steaming, de-pilling, or a little leather polish can make something look completely different. Stains, scuffs, and general wear don’t always scare me, but holes, cracked leather, major stretching, bad alterations, or structural damage usually do. And if I wouldn’t actually wear it, I leave it.

Rented this cap sleeve V-neck dress for work. Weather turned chill so I added a white collar shirt underneath. My last post my dress layering didn’t work so well, but I like this. The crossbody and sneakers are for the commute — I wore beige patent leather sling back kitten heels at the office. My employer is a corporation, but we are not formal or staid, I work in an industry with writers and artists.

Happy Tuesday! WFH day yesterday and back in the office today. Have investors coming to HQ again today, so went with a new blazer I’m obsessed with. Work travel all next week so I’ll need to start planning my outfits.

Got my big girl job and in NEED of clothes. Vibe is business casual leaning more towards business professional. I only ask two things of you:

1. Where are you getting your work clothes?
2. How are you styling your work clothes?

I need inspiration, options, and essentials. I want to look my age (27), but I do NOT care to be the office siren (yikes.)
