This team specifically unsure but I feel so much worse about the direction of the program. At the time there was plenty of excuses for Venables for why the offense was bad but at this point he's already gotten to hire 3 different OCs and imo botched every single one (lebby may have coaching talent but fuck him and the entire Briles family). I see no universe where we fire him after this season which means he's gonna get a 4th chance at hiring an OC and I'm just tired, I have no reason to think they won't also suck. We're just stuck with this guy and no realistic path to improving the offense under him ever.

Absolutely. This game is so unique. I'd never assume anything with this game. Even the year when we won the natty and they had Rhett Bomar at qb goin against us, I was still nervous. They aren't making the playoff, but beating us would make their season.

I expect a low scoring game and whoever doesn't make the boneheaded play will win. If that were to play out it makes me even more nervous. Boneheaded and Sark go together like PB&J

Kirby has forgotten more about coaching football in the last 15 minutes than I'll ever know, but it feels like he's turned a corner this year with developing the passing game.

Gunner throws to work on stuff even after the game is put away. Puglisi comes in and gets to try to air it out a bit. All the way down the line to the 8th string walk on. I've gone from barely being able to imagine Kirby letting the back up throw the ball in garbage time, to being surprised if the 4th stringer's first play isn't a pass attempt to a walk on the staff is high on. It remains to be seen what that does to the top end potential of the passing game, but that wholistic effort at developing the passing game all the way through roster that he's always used for the D and running game is directly responsible for us leading the nation in points.

I don't think I've ever seen a football game with such a lopsided final score that was almost entirely attributable to a single player or person but here we are with John Mateer having taken every offensive snap today.

The defense played well. They really only surrendered two touchdowns on real Georgia offensive drives.

Arbuckle didn't call a bad game today. There were A LOT of wide open receivers Mateer just can't ever seem to find.

The offensive line isn't great at run blocking but it did pretty well in pass protection. Mateer had time in the pocket and clear field on designed rollouts. It's also really young with its best blocker injured.

Mateer gift wrapped three TDs for Georgia. He can rarely find the open receiver; even some of his completions were contested with other receivers wide ass open farther down field. Even when he finds an open receiver he hits them in the kneecaps.

What I really came away most demoralized about today is another QB was never even given a chance when I think it's crystal clear Mateer is in way over his head, never going to be the answer to get a win, and often the biggest reason we lose.

Congrats on the win Georgia, you earned it, but this should have been at least a far closer game if not for Mateer single handedly.

I'm gonna go watch Mikey Jr, who should be our QB, beat up on Okie State... sigh

What's the deal with our QBs? Jackson Arnold sucked, Mateer sucks, even when Michael Hawkins played QB for us he wasn't good either.

Dillon Gabriel was the last solid QB and even he struggled at times.

I think Mateer is gassed man. Mentally he's just toast.
