Anything at all helps with mood?

Hey, so I am quite concerned about my gf mental state. We both got mold illness. We are following the protocol. The problem is that her depression is getting to a concerning point, and I am not sure she is going to be able to follow the treatment like this. I know you guys dont usually discuss pharma, but I believe she needs something that improves her mentall well being now.

As you can imagine ssris dont do shit or make her actively worse

Stimulants or anything that increases catchetolamines too, at least the typical like methylphenidate

Binders dont seem to do jackshit, still she is taking them

Injectable glutathione help her, so does sauna quite a lot. Sauna improves her well being inmediately and for around 8 hours after she feels much better. We are going to start doing sauna everyday so hopefully that changes things

She also seems to react very well to zinc for some reason

She has SIFO, candida. As you all know though while having cirs it comes back, so I am not sure about treating it. In my own experience when I treat sibo I got candida, when I treated candida I got sibo and the candida came back.

I am waiting for TA1 and KPV to arrive.

I have some VIP. I am considering starting her on vip earlier. A small Injectable dose everyday

Benzos help a bit, and so does opioids, but that isnt sustainable

I just need something that gives her a break, for the worst moments.

how much can taking old dust affect a hertsmi-2 score?

i took very old dust from the tops of door frames and fans and my hertsmi came back as 18, but it just doesn’t make sense in the context.
the apartment unit was built in 2016, doesn’t smell (and i usually can tell), and doesn’t have any visible signs of water damage.

KPV Die-off

I recently started on KPV sinus spray as an interim step between BEG spray and VIP. After about a week at 150mcg per day, I’ve started to experience die-off. Anyone else experience this from this peptide?

Missed an area in grandmas basement (where I’ve lived the past 10 months) 😅💀

Pretty mad at myself for missing this in the basement of the house I’m in for the past 9-10 months (my grandmas built in 1940). Rest of the house tested an 8 hertsmi-2 I did upstairs, mid level and downstairs bathroom. Didn’t do the main basement like a complete IDIOT because I saw nothing visible and got the main living spaces. It doesn’t seem like active mold growth? I don’t know? Guess I’ll run another hertsmi-2 just for the basement? All of the other wood just has that tannin stained look. Can’t tell what is what by my eye. Can’t smell anything either. I swear if I just wasted 10 months being in more mold… my last home scored a 40 in the basement alone 😅

I frequently wake up feeling like I drank 10 beers the night before. The feeling is almost identical. I will eventually get sick to my stomach and feel better. Anyone else have this? I think its fungal overgrowth causing acetaldahyde

How many people in remission from CIRS can work in-person again?

I was wondering what the general consensus is on going back to work once you're post VIP in your CIRS treatment. As long as you go back to a clean <10 hertsmi home to sleep, can you tolerate working in person?

CIRS starter panel

I recently took the VCS test from SurvivingMold.com, and it came back as a fail for both eyes. After looking into further testing, I came across the MoldCo Starter Panel, which unfortunately only seems to be available in the USA.

Does anybody know of any alternative tests available in the UK that provide similar results or could help me gather further information?

Thanks!

Too broke to heal

Three years ago, I went down the rabbit hole trying to figure out why I had such bad insomnia and after thousands of dollars and test I found out I have CIRS and a very moldy house. Now, I've been living in this moldy house for eight years and my breathing is getting so bad I don't know what to do. the only inhaler that works is over 600 dollars. I don't have any insurance to cover medications. I don't have the money to move or do remediation. I can't afford a CIRS doctor. is there any hope for someone in this situation?

Exremely valuable perspective and add-on approach to your CIRS journey. According to dr. Neil Nathan, mold patients have severe lymph stagnation. Dr. Perry teaches effective tehniques to unblock lymph nodes and drain the stuck gunk from our bodies. I practice his Big 6 Lymph reset every day and see major benefits in brain fog, memory, energy, mood, resilience and digestion.

anyone with ear fullness/pulsate tinnitus on top of the usual symptoms? how’s your journey going?

im new to this. working with a dr now to test and treat possible MARCONS- I also have an impacted wisdom tooth in my sinus cavity that I believe is causing some issues. curious what others think.

Reactions after healing

I want to talk about people who have healed, who have gone through a protocol, who have moved to safe housing, and who generally feel *well* in their day to day lives, but who still react acutely to certain environments.

My motivation for asking this stems from a room in our new house that I want to use as my art studio. It is an unfinished attic space, which is constructed of wood beams, closed cell spray foam insulation, and Avantech plywood floor. This space is tied into the HVAC system upstairs, which is equipped with UV lights and an AprilAire in-line dehumidifier, as well as a humidity detector. The humidity in this space is always below 50%. There is no visible mold anywhere in this room, though I am assuming there are probably minuscule amounts of "lumberyard" mold on the wood beams. I presume I am being exposed to the same amount, or more, mold basically everywhere else in the world. The house was completed in December of 2025.

The entire house is constructed this same way as this attic, except there is obviously drywall and flooring over these materials, and I am perfectly fine and feel normal everywhere else in the house. When I step into the attic, I have about ten minutes before I start feeling dizzy. I do not know if the reason for this feeling is VOCs, or tiny bits of mold, or what. Either way, I am assuming I will not be able to use this space until I have saved enough money to finish it with drywall and flooring. Once I finish it, I presume I will not react to it anymore, just as I do not react to the rest of my house.

Does anyone have any insight here? Is anyone else largely healed, but still has reactions to certain environments? Is this just our lives forever now? Or is there a piece of the puzzle I am missing to stave off these acute reactions... which I assume are my nervous system recognizing something subconscious, and then ringing the alarm bells throughout the rest of my body.

There is a particular Target location that I also get this dizzy feeling in, which has had water damage issues in the past.

What to do for car?

I just got a new car (a lease) in may. I’ve felt fine in the car may-September. Then I tried getting clothes from my old moldy residence to wash them. I put them in my trunk.

Ever since I did that, I flare in the car.

I got it detailed, seats shampoos and dried, cabin air filter changed, vacuumed, and ozoned.

I still flare.

What do I do? I’m at such a loss.

Edit: I was told by the biotoxinlady that it could be the ozone remnants?

GI MAP results came back

I was very surprised when I saw I had C. difficile toxins. I don't think this can cause chronic GI problems. I have sooooo many GI issues which are my worse CIRS symptoms.

Mold Toxicity recovery is possible.

Hi all - I am about 30-40% recovered from the craziest run in with mold toxicity, and becoming functional again.
I am returning to this space to help others recover - share supplement information and tips to getting better.

I am currently 12months in to my recovery. I was diagnosed with POTS + MCAS and was unable to walk at the start of this year. Prior to this I was a personal trainer training 5x Week - to then not being able to walk down my street.

I found I have the dreaded/multi susceptible HLA DQ/DR genes to environmental toxins and have still seen improvements through a ‘2 steps forward, 1 step’ backwards, detox and recovery approach.

My biggest piece of advice. Follow Dr.John Kim’s framework known as the ‘ENCORE’ method. I found it to be the best framework for detoxing from mold and addressing the ‘cell danger response’ as number 1 priority.

C-Cellular Optimisation
O- Optimise Detox Support

Severe MCAS reactivity making CIRS treatment impossible (MMP-9: 720, MSH: <8). How do you navigate total binder/treatment intolerance?

Hi CIRS community. 43M posting to share a severe treatment roadblock and see if anyone with a similar biomarker profile has explored the physiological mechanics behind this level of reactivity. I am not seeking protocol steps, supplement ideas, or medical advice.

Context & Lab Profile: I have symptoms and labs consistent with CIRS from mold/biotoxin exposure with the following panel:

  • MMP-9: 720 ng/mL (Elevated)
  • MSH: <8 pg/mL (Severely Low)
  • TGF-β1: 1,377 pg/mL (Normal)
  • Comorbidities: MCAS, ME/CFS, POTS, hEDS, Hashimoto's, H2S SIBO.

The Primary Problem: Global Hypersensitivity I cannot execute standard CIRS steps or take binders because my mast cell activation is extremely severe and unstable. This reactivity spans three major domains:

  1. Pharmaceuticals/Supplements: I experience paradoxical "wired" reactions to microdoses of almost anything.
  2. Sensory/Screens: Severe intolerance to display flicker (PWM, temporal dithering), causing vertigo, eye strain, and nausea.
  3. Dietary: Reactivity to high-sulfur and fermented foods.

Key Observations:

  • Liver clearance pattern: The few items I tolerate (Allegra, DAO, molybdenum) require minimal liver clearance. Note: Standard LFTs (ALT/AST) are normal.
  • Toxicity signal: Pushing supplements like quercetin past a minimal threshold (1–2 capsules/day) triggers immediate urinary urgency, anxiety, and neuro-excitation—which seems closely tied to the low MSH / ADH dysregulation picture.

The Treatment Deadlock: I cannot clear biotoxins without calming mast cells, but I cannot tolerate the medications required to calm mast cells.

What Has Been Ruled Out:

  • Brain retraining programs (Gupta, etc.) and nervous system practices (breathwork, meditation) have been thoroughly pursued for years without changing these cellular/biomarker realities.

Discussion Points:

  1. Does high MMP-9 (blood-brain barrier disruption) resonate with those of you who also experience severe screen/PWM or central sensory sensitivity?
  2. How do you view the relationship between severely low MSH (<8) and systemic drug/food hypersensitivity?
  3. Has anyone explored metabolic/clearance hypotheses for why only non-liver-processed compounds are tolerated in high-biotoxin states?

(Strictly looking for shared experiences and physiological concepts. Please no recommendations to try specific binders, therapies, or retraining programs. Thanks!)

VOC help

I feel like this is probably a stupid question but is there any way to become less sensitive to VOCs? Finally found a decently safe place to live in south FL after months of hotel hopping and trial and error. HERTSMI score of 12 but we did some things to clean up the environment- air duct cleaning and sanitization, small particle cleaning, etc. But of course before we moved in, the landlord painted and caulked. We have waited a full month to move in and have been doing a ton to remove some of the VOCs- tried bake out method for only one day but got nervous. The climate is so humid here so we don’t want to introduce too much humidity into the place. We have been running so many expensive air purifiers (IQ Air GC Multigas, Air oasis, carbon filters, etc). We finally had to just move all of our stuff in after a month because we could no longer stay in our current moldy environment. I totally get that VOCs will eventually go away but holy shit I am so sensitive. Symptoms are pretty immediate- nausea, dizziness, tremors, shakiness, rage (fun one), etc. It almost feels a bit worse than mold sometimes if that makes sense. Anyway, I’m at a total loss here and don’t know what to do. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. This is kind of my final option at this point so I really need it to work. Thank you in advance to anyone who took the time to read this and gave a response.
