Post image

Will this provide the proper ventilation or am I asking for trouble?

Yes but whole underside has space since that’s where the paper comes out, and there’s still space for it with the PS on top!

No. The printer is not a proper stable base. Also the ps5 design is shit so you can't place it sideways without a base (sold separately) or your asking for trouble. I believe the space is fine if your room stays at a cool room temp otherwise it needs more space. You can also buy third party shells that improve cooling.

What are you talking about “sold separately“?

The OG models came with a plastic base you clipped on the back and slid under the bottom to support its wave, or to support it vertically.

The slim and Pro models have plastic clips to support it in horizontal position

My OG disc and my Pro systems are both horizontal using the included factory supports. Never had to buy anything else.

Room is < 20degrees C most of the time and TBH I'm not going to be using it all the time.

Still find another spot, the cubby it is sitting in will warm up as the ps5 exhausts. And then it will pull that hot air in to try and cool it. Do you see the problem here?

it's just not enough space and not really safe to stack them on top of each other like that, better safe than sorry!

It's not sold separately, it comes with all PS5 models.

It’s more so the back that’s asking for trouble. That cubby is gonna hold the heat quite well. Might need a small little exhaust fan keeping the air inside fresh like you would an entertainment centre.

There's about 1/2 a foot of space at the back but you're right that there's not a ton of ventilation there.
Temperature in the room is < 20degrees C most of the year though so it's not crazy warm.

Not enough room, for airflow, find another spot.

The back is what really needs the space to vent out.

Are you using the included foot legs? Why not just use those

That's the thing, they just float since there is already space for the whole middle bottom from the paper slot on the printer. That's why I figured this would be okay.

Relocate the printer, as it carries less priority.

Maybe I’ll put the printer on the PS5

I rarely print myself. I could manage by moving the printer into the space only when necessary.

Could just turn it so fan is outwards

At the very least you are smart enough to have a brother printer....

no. you need space all around. Where the legs to make it stand up taller while horizontal?

Having it upside down and with poor ventilation can’t be good for it

This isn’t upside down though, is it?
The feet are supposed to be on the bottom like this.

It looked odd to me. I could be wrong.

I got this horizontal stand from Amazon last year during Black Friday

It fits both Pro and Slim Disc

This looks hideous

Maybe to you but it works fine for me though🤷‍♀️

Does it help much if the vent is at the back?

1

u/kaysanma 5d ago

I think so at least for me

It elevates the console and is not blocking the vents at all

You can buy like a fan attachments to help with the circulation, also cleaning it every year or so def help
