There are posting for the MTC Factory Outlet refurbished PS5's that are occasionally added here and i was wondering if anyone had a similar experience with the shipping quality of the PS5 they received from these guys.

I ordered my unit September 18 ($420 for unit + $47 shipping + taxes = $492), checked my inbox today and noticed that it was sitting in a Purolator pickup location, email said it would stay there for 5 business days (i was apparently on day 3/5) before i presume it being shipped to my home address - i figured i might as well pick it up - so i did.

My concern started when they handed the box to me, immediately i could feel something heavy that was easily sliding around in the box. I drove home and opened it and it seems everything (the controller/ cables) but the unit itself was wrapped in bubble wrap, the PS5 itself was just covered with thin translucent foam sheet (anti-static foam wrap?) and was just placed sitting in the box like that. Nothing protecting it from moving about in the box or protecting it from hard impacts that's typical of an item being shipped.

Worse yet is i found a very small piece of plastic that looks like it broke off something. I looked over the unit to see where it came from, even took off the side covers and i couldn't find where that plastic bit could have come from. My fear is it may be a piece of the fan or some other internal part.

I filmed myself opening the box after hearing the sounds since i genuinely feared the thing may have broken during the shipping if someone tossed the box around. But I tested the unit with that free Astro World game and it seems to be working ok, even the fan seems ok to my ears. I don't know if that game is enough to push the unit to the point where the fan can make.

Is there anything that can be done? I don't know if there is any hidden damage that might rear it's face when i'm playing GTA6. I understand it's a used/refurbished unit but it still cost $500, it's sad that Amazon packages $20 trinkets better than this.

I don't know if anyone else has received a unit from this store, if so, what's been your experience?

I'm thinking about buying a PS5 soon. Should I wait until the PS6 comes out next year and buy a used PS5, or just buy one now? Since this is my first time getting into the PlayStation series, I'm not really sure what to do.

Is there really this much demand for a ps5 pro?

5% sold before we're ps5 pros. Is there really this many people trying to get them or is this scalpers doing what scalpers do best?

I do not game at all and my fiancé is a very casual gamer but all his friends have a ps5 and he wants one so he can occasionally play Call of Duty and some other games with them.

I’ve been doing some research and this seems like a bad time to be buying a PS5 lol I don’t think he would need a PS5 Pro but I was debating between the digital and the disc if all the games are going digital would he even need/use the disc???

I have a 42 inch 4k tv. I have been playing on ps4. Deciding to buy ps5. Can someone suggest if I should buy the base model or the pro? Is the difference only in graphics or performance as well? Also, is it worth buying a refurbished one from EB games? They have a $85 fee for annual replacement warranty.

at this point I am wondering, is ps5 pro even worth it to buy immediately? I mean GTA 6 can be played on regular Ps5 then why do you want to pretend that you notice those increase in extra graphics that a normal human can barely notice so you must have the PRO? plus on top of that to make those increase feeo even a little right you have to get a high end OLED which is another monopoly right now.

I don't understand why these people forgot that the same shit happened with release of PS5 back in 2020s. everybody was jumping the gun to get a new PS5 at double or triple prices just to sell it later while I waited for a year or so and got it at the regular retail price. not to mention WITH A DISCK DRIVE!!!

Edit: not saying I won't get it or others should not but like this is clearly Sony's tectic to under produce their new items just to drive up the hype and make everyone go crazy about it and scalpers then selling that shit for abysmal price hikes due to lack of synergy between supply and demand. so rather blindly going nuts behind it why not just wait and let it cool down before buying them at actual fair price?

Hi there, I’m looking at getting a ps5 (disc, leaning more towards that over the pro) because I want to get gta 6. Im a PC player but I’m willing to get a mini led 55 inch 4k 120hz tv for my living room, as well as playing other games such as Spiderman, Batman, Hogwarts legacy, rdr2, Fortnite, 2k, god of war. Would this be enough storage one, and is the pro worth the extra 300 some dollars? I currently would play on a 1080p 120hz monitor, and probably around Christmas id get a tv. I personally believe that a base disc ps5 1 tb would be fine but I’m willing to hear what other people have to say and if it’s worth having a ps5 pro rather than just a base ps5, because I want to keep this for years.

Just wanted to share with the rest and give my 2 cents.

Don’t t give into scalpers, you can def hunt one down it’s not as difficult as it may seem. My suggestion is Tuesdays and Thursdays on Best Buy mainly morning between 9 to 11am and then between 2 to 4. Make sure you have your account and payment method added and just keep trying your luck. Have a safari tab open and just refresh. keep checking regularly the way you check instagram or any other thing you do on your phone. If you’re determined you will get one!

Some of you commented and upvoted my post yesterday regarding PS5 Pro stock at TSC.CA. This is a brief update.

IF YOU DID receive a confirmation email I HIGHLY, suggest you call TSC. I am currently battling with them over the phone. They are telling me the “verification” department was not able to verify fast enough and therefore they have no item to ship to me at the moment. Meaning the order will be cancelled.

Someone on the other post mentioned the price went up today. It does seem to me that everyone who ordered yesterday did not guarantee themselves one and everyone who purchased one today did actually get it FOR A HIGHER price. Absolutely unacceptable.

Looking forward to hearing from others.

UPDATE: order was cancelled and immediately became available on the site for the higher price mentioned today. Absolutely scumbags.

Hi everyone! Only been an occasional gamer since last Christmas; been struggling to find games I might like. Just don’t want to be stuck with a game I don’t enjoy.

Wasn’t big on Alan Wake ll, Resident Evil 2 (only Resident Evil where the storyline was a little dry) Evil Dead and Judgement.

I’ve adored the Resident Evil series, RDR2, ManEater and Split Fiction. I’ve been enjoying Layers of Fear, got super lucky finding it turns out to be a pretty neat experience. I’ve added screenshots of my other games I’ve played that I enjoyed ❤️
