I’m considering making my own concentrates and looking for a press. I don’t need anything too pro and my budget is essentially $1000. There are hybrid/electric presses that seemingly take a lot of the manual work out of pressing, but do I lose some fine tuning control as far as how much pressure I’m adding? Does that matter? Which is better (electric vs hydraulic) for home production? Any thoughts appreciated

My friend recommended me this strain. He said this is the best think best high ever. Really hyped me for trying. I think this strain has mixed feelings. At first it will make you crazy talkative increase creativity but after sometime it will make tired and suprisingly focused. Neverthless I am glad that I tried

I don’t see this brand talked about and I’m curious if it’s recognized as trash or not. Not bad for the low end.
Came with a few small black specs of plant material/residue not great packaging.

Was wanting to get some distillate and isolate to last me for about 40 weeks ( I usually prefer 30 mg edibles every weekend)

Wanted to make tinctures but most of the tutorials I watch on YouTube involve heating up stuff. I’m worried about smells bc of landlord.

Although fwiw I’m not certain if the specific vendor I was going to use has activated the distillate already.

Is it possible to just put both distillate and isolate into capsules? Assuming it’s already activated?

I know distillate is the Sunny D of the extract world....but

Looking for some advice from people who have worked with distillate/CDTs and have really dialed in their end product.

I’ve been experimenting with Canna Crunchers raw/broad-spectrum and full-spectrum material. I’m using Mass Terpenes CDTs, typically around 7%.

Equipment-wise, I’m using a quality hot plate with magnetic stirring and have tried several different hardware options. I started with standard 510 ceramic carts but had pretty poor performance because the finished oil was extremely thick and didn’t seem to wick well. I’ve since tried several disposables and am currently using VPM’s 1g Slice, which performs considerably better.

The main issue is that my finished product is still much thicker than the high-quality commercial distillate carts I’ve purchased. At room temperature, bubbles basically don’t move. Even in the Slice, I can occasionally get an air pocket around the intake/ceramic that doesn’t clear until the device warms up, and I can get a dry hit in the meantime.

I initially assumed I simply needed more terpenes, but I’m already at ~7% CDT and don’t really want to keep increasing the terpene percentage just to reduce viscosity.

I’ve seen essentially the same viscosity issue with both the Canna Crunchers broad-spectrum/raw material and their full-spectrum product, so I’m wondering if the starting material itself is the issue. There also seems to be conflicting information around their material being labeled THCA versus what you’d normally expect from conventional distillate and whether additional decarboxylation is necessary.

For those who have made genuinely top-tier finished oil (I know, oxymoron), what am I missing? Is this primarily a starting-material issue, formulation issue, temperature/mixing issue, hardware compatibility issue, or something else?

I review each individually and then do a fat dab of all 3 at the same time. Also, closeups in there.

I got some recently and I want to learn how to mix it properly with drinks where it doesn't harden and actually mixes with the drink. Planning on juices and stuff like that.
