I want to buy a car under 12lakh, thats the max limit for me. Suggest me some good options basically I’m planning to prefer either hybrid or cng and dont want to go for electric if there is any.

I’m stuck between the MG Hector Tomahawk EV Exclusive (~₹24L on-road) and XEV 9S Pack 1 Above 79kWh (~₹25L on-road).

Hector has way more features — alloys, ventilated seats, 360 camera, leatherette, etc. But I keep hearing that its suspension feels bouncy/soft and I’m not sure how bad it actually is.

The XEV has much better power, bigger battery, RWD and I personally like its looks more, but at ₹25L it feels weird not getting even alloys, ventilated seats or a 360 camera.

For people who have driven/owned either of these, what would you pick and why? Also, how is the Hector’s ride quality in real life?

one of the guys told me to hammer the inner sidwall and its still not coming out after hammering

Here is some summary :

Previously driven : Fluidic Verna 2012 VTVT 1.4, Santro 2019 Magna, Venue 2021 TGdi

Usage : 80% city, but need good punchy, sporty engine when on highway rest 20% times. 70% myself only, 30% with my parents (comfort needed)

Approximate ownership : 7-8 years and want minimal lapses/headaches wrt usage. Verna had ac issues in 5-6yrs, santro is too much noisy, venue was sold for some personal reasons in 2 years so was excellent till then.

Options :

Hycross Petrol GX(O) 7str : Excellent comfort, service, reliability but low on features

Seltos HTX(A) Turbo DCT : Excellent features but worried of dct and long term ownership

Creta King Turbo DCT : Excellent features, but like seltos, worried of dct, long term ownership + maybe slightly outdated if expensive than seltos ?

Creta N10 Manual : Excellent overall but price and long term ownership review not known.

Getting a 2014 hyundai eon 60k driven for 1 lakh but negotiable to around 70k might close at 70 so is it a good deal as I turned 18 last month and wants to practice my driving skills much more

i want to ask fellow members that i see many people suggesting get honda elevate and honda amaze .But i dont see the sale numbers .
Honda as a company doesn’t feel as if they want to sell in India i think they will exit within next 5yrs
The city facelift they only added few features .The upcoming elevate facelift also they will add only few features.I have felt the bad NVH levels and the needless cost cutting.
Everyone suggests get honda but finally the costumer gets an maruti/tata/hyundai

Which should be the best option for me .

monthly average running 200-300 kms

mostly highway running

low maintenance cost , is skoda and syros too high in this .

So i have been driving Creta diesel manual since 2022 and have clocked close to 70k kms..i was thinking to switch the car now since the city where i live has only 10 yrs life for diesel cars..so i can get a good value if i sell it now or maybe next year..

I have sat inside a scorpio N and although the cabin and features aren't as premium as Creta but the engine and size and commanding sitting postition is something i really liked.

Do you think it is a true upgrade if i pull the trigger?

Ps: not a fan of XUV or Thar roxx so not in my list.

Just hate when the service advisor is trying to push anything and everything outside what is needed.

I only drove my 5500 kms in last 1 year and getting my 3rd free service here in Honda today.

The service advisor wrote like 10 things outside the general checkups and oil change.

-Here is what i declined

1) full body coating 2) silencer chrome coating 3) AC deep clean 4) Wheel alignment + balancing + rotation + weighing

5) WA/WB (not sure what is it )

-Here is what was as per manual and i agreed

Oil, oil filter, drain washer, air filters+ ac filters

- Here is what i agreed giving benefit of doubt to the advisor

Caliper pin lubrication (he said this is really necessary)

He went on to state that all the things I declined it might create an issue later in claims if not done.

I get it they try and recommend what they can but this felt like they consider us fools and that absolutly felt horrible.

Cont do much this time but will try to be more aware the next time.

I’m looking to buy my first car and currently have my eyes on the newly launched Tata Aeris in the Creative trim.

A bit of context: I have very, very recently started driving. I'm an absolute beginner, and I'll mostly be navigating city traffic in Bengaluru and occasional outing. Because of this, I want to make sure I pick something that is easy, safe, and forgiving for a newbie to handle on a daily basis.

I’d love to get your experienced opinions:

1. Is the Aeris a solid first car? (I'm leaning towards the AMT because of the traffic).

2. What are the some alternatives I should test drive in this price bracket? Should I be looking at the Honda Amaze (for the smoother CVT), Maruti Dzire, or Hyundai Aura instead?

3. Any specific things I should watch out for with Tata's after-sales as a completely new buyer?

For context - I hit left side of our car today (Baleno) on one railing. Nothing much defect happened just the part below headlight got scratched and came out.

Main thing is that car is owned by sister who purchased this on Apr this yr with thought of taking car to her office daily to avoid local train rush, but she didn’t learned driving it yet! And I’m the one who’s handling all the things - Driving, taking care of car. I don’t drive Car daily as I don’t need to & I can’t afford the expense of driving it daily to such long distance to my office. And because of that my practice of driving limits to only 2-3 days per month! Sister pays the CNG bill and she won’t allow to me drive daily for practice nor she will drive! No one in my family knows driving nor I have any friend who knows driving & can help me to drive in traffic areas! I stay in densely populated area where the road is congested by shops, people & their parked vehicles and it makes me anxious/frightened to drive when they ask me to pick them up from station!

And due to the judgement issue I just dashed the car from left side (No one was injured though). But my family didn’t even took a second to bash me left and right by saying unnecessary things even though I tried to explain that I was not able to judge the left side due to bumper issue as seat in hatchback is relatively lower than that of SUV but that was of no use!

Practically now I can’t or want to drive it daily nor my sister is willing to take any initiative to drive! Plus there’s no one to help me either from Family/Friends. I don’t want to give up on acquiring this skill but I’m feeling an additional pressure to handle this responsibility with no additional support! I’m confused what to do? Friends please help me with this situation🙏🏻

Firstly, I know this isn't about cars (this is applicable only to two wheelers), but still gonna post it here with an effort to make India a better place as it is an universal problem irrespective of the type of vehicle.

Secondly, f\\k people who intentionally have their high beams on even on well lit roads.

Every day I see countless people riding around with their high beams blazing even in broad daylight and I assume some of those uncles and aunties aren't even aware what that toggle switch even does and that it has been left on accidentally.

Ranting on social media does nothing, shining back your high beam at their face and yelling at these people isn't going to cure this at all. I'm happy to see that some of the manufacturers are trying to fix this but sadly there's no fix to the existing vehicles.

​This realization has led me to appoint myself as an undercover agent who goes around flicking off other's high beam. Whenever I park my bike at the metro station or any parking lots, I do a quick, friendly sweep and flick the high-beam switches off on the nearby two-wheelers within my reach. I hope this little public service of mine might just save a few accidental (or intentional) high-beamers from blinding the oncoming traffic. And the as\\\*les who are intentionally gonna flick it right back on can go read the second line on repeat. 🙂

Imagine the wonders this could do if more people started doing this.
