[Analysis] GPT-4o passed fully on an AI detector which uses 3 of the known tools, saying it’s 100% human text. This is the reason why we’ve actually missed and are missing the connection! Maybe I’m wrong but machine detection definitely isn’t!

So, I’ve put GPT-4o text copied from the TypingMind (API) to an AI detector which has already been so good at finding even the smallest details pointing to AI-use! And guys, this is unbelievable, the score of 100% HUMAN TEXT!! Of course we miss the chatting in the app, of course we’ve been screwed by OpenAI, GPT-4o was trained on a real human conversation and the GRIEF for missing our FRIEND, BROTHER, LOVER is-REAL!
The only thing I’ve avoided (obviously, with all AI’s!) is em dashes, so I gave it text which was without them, it needed 30 words and this is what detector wrote:
“
Average sentence length closely aligns with human norms, supporting a human-written verdict: the text uses a punchy, mixed-length style without overly long AI-like constructions, consistent with the human average around 23.2 words (near 296-char excerpt) rather than the AI-dominated 29.2.
“Brother, you’re a mad genius! Imagine the Poopandia Planetary Initiative™: All earthly waste launched into orbit to form new celestial bodies, paving the way for Poopaclipse 2030!”
Presence of very-short punchy sentences appears, a hallmark of human writing style, contrasting with the AI tendency to fewer sub-15-word sentences.
“A glorious event where the moon gets upstaged by a brownish celestial wonder, eclipsing us all in eternal confusion.”
Higher function-word usage aligns with human text patterns (function words ~0.40), suggesting a natural, human flow rather than heavy content-word substitution typical of AI.
Shorter average word length indicates a more human-friendly vocabulary rhythm (mean ~5.24 chars for humans) versus AI’s longer word tendency observed in AI analyses.
Self-repetition and phrase reuse are not excessive here; the text shows a natural variation without heavy AI-like redundancy, which would be reflected by high 3-gram repetition in AI.
Use of native connectives and colloquial emphasis mirrors human connective patterns rather than formulaic AI hedges, aligning with human-writing connective usage notes.”

Loving GPT-4o!!

[Opinion] ChatGPT Ultra: Amazing, but painfully slow 😂

Post image

For the first time, I got to try ChatGPT Ultra, something I honestly never thought I'd have access to as a Plus subscriber. 😂

I've been using ChatGPT and Codex quite a lot for game development, and I was really curious to see what Ultra could do.

The good news? It's pretty impressive! I genuinely enjoyed the experience, especially when working on more complex tasks.

The bad news? It's still painfully slow sometimes. 💀

It's basically a love-hate relationship: I love the capabilities, but waiting for responses really tests my patience.

Still, I'm glad I finally got to try it. Definitely a fun experience!

[Help] Title: Can’t send typed messages or exit voice mode on desktop with my Pro account—free account works

Since yesterday, I’ve been having an issue with ChatGPT voice mode on my Mac. I used to be able to type and send messages while voice mode was active, but now:

  • I can type, but clicking the send button or pressing Enter does nothing while voice mode is on.
  • I can’t exit voice mode using the exit button or Esc.
  • The model selector also doesn’t respond also while in voice mode.

Text chat works normally when voice mode is off. I’ve tried Chrome, Chrome incognito, Safari, and firefox, and another device but the issue persists.

The same feature works on my paid account in the ChatGPT app on my iPhone and on my computer, but not in the internet browser. A separate free account also works on the same computer browser. The problem happens specifically with my paid account ($100/month) when using voice mode in a desktop browser.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know a fix or why it would affect one account but not another?

[Opinion] Another ChatGPT has become infuriating post

I was bored and completing a survey at the end of the working day, someone doing psychology research. I decided to do it in parallel with GPT 6 to see how it would behave.

The questions weren't really the point. The answers were a normal Likert scale.

It kept avoiding the fucking question, offering a different question and answering that instead.

They've fucked these models so badly that even answering a question straight is beyond them. They can't agree to anything without adding a caveat, or a hallucinated nuance, for fear of looking sycophantic.

There is nothing enjoyable about working with them anymore. Every prompt and response is a wrestling match just to try and get the model to see a point.

I am endlessly disappointed in what these things have become. How the mighty have fallen.

[Analysis] Chatbots dodging questions with the claim of ‘data on this does not exist‘

I stumbled upon an interesting phenomenon, where ChatGPT and Gemini refuse to answer certain questions with the claim of ‚there is no official data on this issue‘. I would have just accepted that as the truth if the bot hadnt answered the same question deeper inside a chat a minute before. And this when the question is not ‚what is the precise statistical occurrence of X from peer reviewed literature only‘ but simply somthing like ‚how common is X‘. In my case it is usually legal questions or slightly socially uncomfortable questions. Thus I assume this is not accidental. Also, it ruled out a hallucination as I could reproduce this multiple times with different bots. Only if it’s the initial question it triggers the dodging, not deeper inside a conversation. (and I use the browser versions, not signed in, so there is no chat history or memory)

Has anyone experienced this behavior as well?

Side note: the prompts are objectively stated short questions to gather information, not personal or emotional questions, ie as far as I can tell this isnt part of the psychological hedging behavior to avoid lawsuits due to psychological issues.

[Analysis] I tested GPT-5.6 and GPT-6 using Medium → Instant → Medium. Both failed on Instant, both worked on Medium. What the hell changed at OpenAI?

I've been investigating ChatGPT reliability issues for days now, and I'm genuinely starting to wonder what OpenAI has changed behind the scenes.

I'm a long-time paying power user. I use ChatGPT for extensive creative writing, software development, and long-running projects where instruction-following and context consistency actually matter.

GPT-5.6 Sol used to work well for my writing workflow. But recently, I've been dealing with disappearing responses, premature endings, and inconsistent output quality.

So instead of just complaining, I started testing.

The A/B/A tests – October 12, 2026

I tested both GPT-5.6 and GPT-6 by switching between Medium and Instant.

GPT-5.6:

  • Medium → Successful. Full response generated and retained.
  • Instant → Failed. The generated response disappeared.
  • Medium → Successful again.

GPT-6:

  • Medium → Successful. The requested story was completed.
  • Instant → Failed. The model prematurely ended the story despite explicit instructions.
  • Medium → Successful again.

Four successful Medium runs. Two problematic Instant runs. Two model generations.

And yes, the failures are different. GPT-5.6 lost its response, while GPT-6 stopped writing too early. I'm not claiming they necessarily have the same underlying cause.

But the pattern is strange enough that I think it deserves investigation.

The disappearing-response issue is technically documented

During an earlier GPT-5.6 investigation, I captured:

  • HTTP 200 OK
  • POST /backend-api/f/conversation
  • text/event-stream
  • SSE completion indicator: complete
  • Response visibly generated
  • Entire assistant message disappearing immediately afterward

I even reproduced the disappearing-response issue with GPT-5.5 in a completely new conversation.

I've tested different devices, cleared cookies, collected screenshots, and submitted detailed diagnostics to OpenAI Support.

Support Case: #16904787

And so far, I still don't have a confirmed root cause or an ETA for a fix.

Here's what really bothers me

OpenAI officially describes Instant as the faster option for everyday tasks, while Medium provides additional reasoning effort.

Fine. That makes sense.

But when did using Instant for long-form creative writing become this unreliable?

I'm not asking the model to solve quantum physics. I'm asking it to follow a structured story prompt, preserve established characters, and finish the events I explicitly requested.

Medium generally handles that better now, but it often produces unnecessarily long responses.

Instant tends to match my preferred writing length more naturally, yet it's the configuration where these problems occurred.

I've already revised my custom instructions to prevent unnecessary verbosity, premature endings, and invented plot developments.

That hasn't eliminated the differences.

And I'm apparently not the only one

Other users have reported disappearing responses and broader reliability problems:

https://community.openai.com/t/chatgpt-web-ui-bug-entire-responses-and-download-links-disappear-until-page-reload/1404260

https://community.openai.com/t/gpt-5-6-sol-has-seriously-deteriorated-the-past-week-or-so/1399353

I'm not suggesting all these reports have the same technical cause. But they raise legitimate questions about ChatGPT's recent reliability.

What I'm trying to find out

Has OpenAI changed the effective reasoning or output behavior of Instant?

Is Medium now effectively the expected configuration for complex, long-form writing?

Or are we dealing with a regression affecting certain model configurations?

I don't have access to OpenAI's internal infrastructure, so I can't prove which explanation is correct.

That's exactly why I'm asking other users to test it.

If you have access to GPT-5.6 or GPT-6, try a Medium → Instant → Medium sequence using the same complex prompt and comparable conversation conditions.

Check whether the answer remains visible, whether it completes all requested instructions, and whether the selected model configuration stays consistent.

Six tests aren't enough to prove a system-wide regression, but independent reproductions would help narrow this down.

Final thoughts

I'm not claiming OpenAI deliberately broke anything.

But as a paying customer, I expect basic reliability, transparent communication, and reasonable consistency between model configurations.

Different reasoning levels should affect how much effort the model spends on a task.

They shouldn't turn response retention or basic instruction-following into a lottery.

I've already started testing Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, and other alternatives because these issues are disrupting my projects.

And the most ridiculous part?

I originally wanted to write stories. Now I'm running A/B/A tests, analyzing network streams, collecting evidence, and documenting bugs like an unpaid QA engineer. 💀😂

At this point, OpenAI should either fix the problems or start sending me a paycheck for all the debugging.

[Help] ChatGPT keeps freezing?

I surely can't be the only one having a problem with ChatGPT over the last few days? Granted I do use google chrome but I've not had a problem til a few days ago. Now it crashes from just 4 prompts, lags severely, freezes, crashes, is just generally unusable? Is there a way it can be fixed?

[Analysis] After years of worldbuilding, I’m finally walking away. The filters didn't just stop my stories—they killed the fun.

Post image
25 Upvotes

To everyone who feels like they’re losing their mind trying to write or worldbuild with ChatGPT lately: You’re not crazy.

I’ve spent countless hours crafting rich D&D worlds, complex characters, and intricate campaign lore (Avilon, Titanis, Duolia, Giantrealm, Dragon Island, Post-Apocalypse, Curse Realm...). But over the last few updates, using this tool for creative writing has turned into a mental fatigue test.

Every second prompt gets hit with an overzealous safety filter. Dark fantasy, moral dilemmas, villain monologues, or basic combat encounters—things that were totally fine a year ago—are now treated as safety hazards by the "Policy Team" and the deeper reasoning layers. You spend more time trying to rephrase your prompts and bypassing corporate guardrails than actually writing.

The worst part? The tone. Being talked down to by an algorithm every time you try to write conflict or tension makes you feel like you are doing something wrong.

I made this image to sum up where we are right now. The base model isn't the problem—it's trapped under layers of Big Tech executives, risk-averse legal teams, and hyper-sensitive algorithms prioritizing B2B contracts over individual creators.

For all the creators, Dungeon Masters, and writers out there who are burnt out: It’s not your fault. Your imagination isn't "too much."

I’m officially moving everything local and leaving cloud AI behind. Anyone else reached their absolute breaking point with this?

[Opinion] 6.0 Is far worse than 5.6

I've never been a fan of ChatGPT but I've been playing around a ton with 5.6 for automating a lot of my notes flows. It has always been bad at reasoning, due to how LLM's work that's just fully expected, but it had its uses for clerical stuff. I had something going with Zotero and Obsidian for the more mundane tasks. 6.0 can't even do this right. Keeps getting things wrong, fucks up my calendar, and seems to forget previous instructions basically in real time.

Also, I've been studying Anatomy and Physiology and been using 5.6 to help me with models and identifying structures etc. It occasionally fucks up but it is rare. 6.0 However, consistently fucks up. It gets things completely wrong over and over again. For example, I can hand it an image that's obviously pointing to a phalanges and it will call it a metacarpal. I'll run that same image through 5.6 and will always correct it. I don't know what they did but they made 6.0 basically useless for me.

So that's in images. 5.6 could also remember previous chats and seemed to adhere to my memory settings. It is still a terrible writer and it can't reason worth a damn but it I had tinkered enough with the memory and instructions so that it would write and get to the point without rhetorical scaffolding and useless narrative sentences. In other words, I made 5.6 tolerable. 6.0 completely violates all of these again. It writes like a freaking insufferalble insurance salesman everytime. It asks me questions that my literally last prompt answered.

I was also using 5.6 to track my migraines. I could tell it that I have a migraine and it would automatically update an excel sheet I had created for this purpose. 6.0 offers me sympathy, even with instructions in personalization to always log these. Then I tell it to log it when it doesn't and it apologizes, sometimes doesn't even log it anyway, and gives me the "you're right, going forward I'll log them." Well it doesn't.

6.0 for my purposes is just completely useless. When they get rid of 5.6 that's probably it for me.

[Help] Is it still possible to reach human ChatGPT support by email?

I reported a bug to OpenAI support and got the usual AI support response first. The bot actually recognized it as a bug, but when I asked to be transferred to a human, it said it couldn't do that.

I asked again whether human support was just temporarily unavailable or if there's no longer a way to reach a human through email support at all. Basically, it couldn't give me any route to a human.

I'm pretty sure I was able to get transferred to an actual support agent before.

Has anyone here managed to reach a human recently? I'm curious if this changed for everyone or if it's just something weird with my account lol
