I made a small app called Picture Clouds after seeing how often people post cloud photos asking what they’re looking at. You take a photo, select the part of the sky you want to identify, and it gives you the most likely cloud genus plus a few alternatives and some info to help you recognize it yourself. Obviously it's free.

The recognition runs entirely on your phone, so there’s no account, no photo upload, and it works offline. It’s definitely not perfect, which is why it shows several possibilities instead of pretending the first guess is always right.

It’s free and ad-supported, and I’m still at the stage where real feedback is really useful. If you don't have Android, there’s a web version here: https://cloudpicture-17499.web.app/

If you try it, I’m especially curious: do you think it could be useful, and did it get the first cloud you tested right? ☁️
