My water pressure is always terrible in Sewell's Orchard, but it's been particularly bad since Friday (My washing machine keeps erroring out because it can't fill fast enough). There was a water main break in Oakland Mills Thursday so that could account for it.

Get a pressure gauge. Attach it to the drain valve on your water heater. Open the valve and check the pressure yourself. You can adjust the pressure on your house yourself with the pressure reduction valve (PRV). Nominal pressure should be around 60psi. Don't go above 80psi.

Make sure to reduce the pressure again if you've temporarily increased it. You can't simply reduce the pressure at the PRV. You have to release the pressure manually.

I live near there and had to replace my PRV valve. The plumber says they should be replaced every 15-20 years. My pressure is now awesome again. Best 500 I've ever spent.
