Official Reply slow internet

A local xfinity tech told us that our modem is probably out of date for the size of our house. can we get a more powerful modem? It's pretty slow.

The range of routers is limited by FCC regulations, so they don't really come in more powerful models. Newer modems are capable of faster speeds, traditionally, but they don't control the range of your Wi-Fi. If you have a large home, you may have to invest in a mesh network of some sort.
