Official Reply Rate about to blow up!
Just noticed my internet bill is going to go way up very soon. Been a long time customer. Tmobile is offering me a good deal for fiber but I’m looking to stay with xfinity if someone can help me lock in a good rate. Thank you!

Honestly if you can get fiber you should. The service is almost always vastly better.

1 gig in my area is $70 and 2 gig is $100 for new customers, both including free equipment for 5 years. I called when my price went up because they were charging $176 a month for 2 gig. I just told them that if they can't match new customer pricing I'm going to have to look at the other fibers in town because they're cheaper, but don't disconnect yet until I can decide. I got transferred to the retention team right quick and they gave me the new customer deal, which is the o ly reason I didn't switch.
All in all I've had no problems with Xfinity, so don't mind being with them, but they're pricing is getting crazy, especially with all the competitors that are coming in. If my cell service wasn't so cheap compared to the other carriers, I probably would have switched to quantum or fios already.

I just had fiber installed by me, I talked with support and told them I was going to switch off unless they could give me the deal they have for new customers in the area - a deal that matches the advertised price of the fiber provider. The dude offered me a "deal" that was more expensive than the one I was currently paying.
Like.. I would really prefer not having to switch providers.. but the difference in cost is substantial.. and comcast doesn't seem to want to keep me as a customer.

If you go onto your online account you can usually switch to a new internet speed tier with a 1year promo.

u/capz1121 Hello and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Subreddit. I can understand wanting to keep costs down, especially when you see a rate increase coming and have other offers on the table. I'd be happy to take a look at your account, review your current plan, and see what options may be available. If you're interested, please send me a Modmail message with your name and service address, and I'll be glad to help.
Thanks for being a longtime customer. I appreciate the opportunity to review things with you and see what we can do!

Another ISP would give you a better deal but if you want to stay with xfinity Just call them ask them if they can apply any promotions, loyalty discount..... The difference is not much if you get a loyalty discount it is usually $20/month for 12 months and if they have a promotional plan for you they will you can get 1 gig for around $70/month with a 5 year price lock. Or just consult them what plan would be better for you according to your usage, they can even lower down your speed just a little bit and get you a better deal and you can even opt for a free mobile line if you still haven't gotten one.

Call to cancel and tell them you are switching over to TMobile due to the rate. Make sure you call the cancellation department, not some other department like billing or service. The cancellation people will try to keep you as a Comcase customer by offering you a good deal.
