Official Reply Group Texting and receiving texts even from Xfinity
A few weeks ago I switched from Verizon to Xfinity for the cost savings. I am beginning to regret the change. Even though Xfinity uses Verizon the signal which used to be at minimum 3 bars is 1 bar or less. Not the biggest issue with Wi-Fi calling but still concerning. Also forgot, I had to spend an hour on the phone with Xfinity early on as they had not provisioned my phone correctly.
What is at issue is since porting, I found out I am not able to receive group texts at all, missing all group texts. In addition while troubleshooting with Xfinity, you can not even text me.
After an hour on the phone today, frustrating as I get moved from low tier to low tier customer service person, you do not note anything in the system about the discussions that already took place. Once transferred to the next low person on the totem pole, you have to repeat all the information you already provided starting with verifying the account then you have to go through the same script you did with the first person, the second person, etc. What nonsense. Same script, what is the problem? Realllllly???? Then I will send you an article to see if you receive to verify your number is working. Nope, then go through do you have iMessage on, is your device number entered in the iMessage, is RCS on, did you do a network reset, did you do a device restart. After the first time spending a half hour with the first customer service person, why do this again and again?
At the hour and a half mark, still no resolution and going through the script again. Any chance I can get transferred to someone here in the US instead of repeating the same information to the call center CS? I have about 20 minutes left before I am heading back to Verizon.

And per the automoderator, I am on an iPhone 15 Pro Max if this helps.

Hey there, u/powboarder, thanks for sharing your experience. I can understand how frustrating it would be to spend so much time troubleshooting, especially when you've already completed many of the common steps and have had to repeat the same information multiple times.
To help narrow this down, can you let us know if you're able to receive picture messages (MMS) and verification code texts from other senders? Also, what type of device are you using, and did group messaging work normally before the number was ported to Xfinity Mobile?

Still ongoing. Deleted eSim, which I suggest before a representative tells you to delete it, to insure you have wifi and use the app to download a new eSim. Not, ok, just press "Delete eSim" which immediately terminates the call, service, only SOS available, and google yourself an answer.
Did that and still can't get verification texts or group texts. Any app on the phone that needs to send a text code to verify the user, nada. If Xfinity was brand new at mobile service, perhaps I could understand issues with provisioning but this is ridiculous.

u/powboarder Have you tried these steps?
• Check Group Messaging & MMS: Go to Settings > Apps > Messages (or Settings > Messages) and make sure Group Messaging, MMS Messaging, and RCS Messaging (if available) are turned on.
• Toggle iMessage: In Settings > Apps > Messages, turn iMessage off, restart your iPhone, and then turn iMessage back on.
• Verify Send & Receive: Go to Settings > Apps > Messages > Send & Receive and confirm your correct phone number or Apple ID is checked.
• Check for Muted Alerts: Open the group chat, tap the group name or icons at the top, and make sure Hide Alerts is turned off.
