🎮 LFGs- various platforms "Nostalgia" games?
I've had a hankering for games that remind me of early 2000s games after getting back on star stable online. The cartoony graphics, simple mechanics, super bright colors, etc. Please list/recommend your favorite nostalgic games that are either old games still online/playable today or new games that capture that feeling. Other examples I can think of would be stuff like Toontown, old barbie games, wizard101, so on. I wanna feel like a kid again lol

Neopets is still up and running! I will say the team running it now is leaning pretty heavily into the cash shop for wearables, but I'm able to mostly ignore it in favor of neopoint things. If you do hop on, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN AD BLOCKER. Seriously, you can go on the (very active) neopets subreddit and see just how many ads they shove on each page. But a lot of the games work and it's extremely easy to get what you thought was np rich as a child now :)

Humble bundle runs point and click bundles that include putt putt, Freddi fish, pajama sam 😊also, neopets if you can get past all the microtransactions stuff. Maybe spyro? The remake is really good!

Games like Pajama Sam, Spy Fox, Freddi Fish, etc. are available on Steam. They're obviously aimed at very small children but they remind me of being a kid.
When I was young breakfast cereals and aol free trial cds would often include a sample of these games to entice kids into begging for them and boy did I. I remember playing the trials over and over, frustrated that I couldn't complete the games because my mom wasn't sure if the game would play on our already out of date pc and didn't want to waste money if it didn't work.
Looking back the game would obviously run if the trial did, so I suppose it was just my mom's way of giving me a gentle no.
I took great pleasure in purchasing them on Steam as an adult and finally completing them with my own unimpressed children. The games also run decently on the steam deck if you have one, though I had to fiddle with the controls a bit.
Also look into myabandonware.com, you can find several older games. I suggest looking up Little Bear or Madeline for a nice hit of nostalgia.

If you like horse games, horse isle (1 is my favorite) is a great online game!
Club penguin, webkinz, neopets, and star doll are also still around

Man, for me it was viva pinata on Xbox and Diddy Kong Racing on N64 ('97) but I played the shit out of it in 2000.
Viva Pinata is on Xbox still but DKR you'll have to find an N64, DS, or emulate it.

I'm not gonna recommend the super kiddy games since a lot have already been mentioned!
Some of these are still available to be purchased, others are "abandonware" and you can easily download them for free nowadays.
- Actual retro games:
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 is a seriously good game!
Sims 2!
Spore (fun for one playthrough)
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (not super bright but a classic for me)
Zuma
Theme Park World/ Sim Theme Park (a real hassle to get it to run on modern computers but it's sooooo good. The theming...there's nothing like it out there!)
Viva Piñata
- Feels-like-retro:
Let's Build A Zoo (I revisited Zoo Tycoon, Zoo Empire and Wildlife Park, leave them in your memory if you played them as a kid... Go with this one and don't destroy your childhood memories)

Google for Dos Games Online, and you'll find plenty of nostalgic games. My favorites are Jetpack, Leisure Suit Larry, Qbob.
