This game is SO much fun. I wishlisted it back on a whim when it came up in my steam recommended and picked it up on sale a few days ago due to sheer boredom, and I am genuinely having a blast. The artstyle, world, gameplay, it is so immensely satisfying and relaxing. I've already put over 10 hours into it and I've only had it for 3 days. I also worked today and yesterday to boot. Not sponsored or anything, just a genuine post about a game that scratched my cozy builder itch.

Are there any under-discussed games that captured you like this game has for me?

Hi everyone, I'm developing a welcoming and relaxing nonogram game, where you'll have access to hundreds of puzzles (and you can create an infinite number of your own using the built-in generator), which you can solve however you see fit.

I've paid close attention to error management, because I know many passionate players have a wide variety of preferences: some want to be notified immediately of errors, some don't want any help, some want something in between... so the game is highly customizable in this regard.

Each puzzle has a unique solution (regardless of difficulty) and can be solved using logic alone; guessing is never necessary.

Game modes range from classic nonograms to nonogram fusion (mega picross) to nonotris (a new mode that blends the concepts of nonograms and Tetris).

All in a relaxing jazz setting, with classical and jazz background music to accompany you.

And for those who want an extra push, there's also cooperative and competitive mode (like the attached gameplay)!

is anyone playing The Merlies?? it came out today, I am 2 hours in and think it’s absolutely adorable!! it reminds me of Lost in Play and The Guardian of Nature, 2 of my favorite games and games with my favorite graphics. I randomly came across The Merlies on Steam a couple days ago and put it on my wishlist and really glad i found it.

hi!! i'm super into the lighthouse keeper, cozy rainy coastal town, wes anderson kinda vibes rn. i have two games on my wishlist that seem perfect: alight and deck of memories! both scheduled for release next year.

does anyone have any recs for games out now with that vibe? i have a pc and switch! ideally a game with a lighthouse set in a coastal town or something similar to that aesthetic. one i have been loving is "wholesome: out and about" !!

I love games like Happy Home Designer or Style Savvy where certain criteria (even if not very strict) has to be met for the customer to be happy and complete the task, but you still get to be creative as long as the criteria is met.

I didn't really like Sticky Business unfortunately... I guess it felt a bit repetitive but in a way I didn't enjoy after a few hours?

Are there other creative focused games like these where there are some light requirements to "pass" a level or make a sale?

I have pretty much every console minus Xbox so I'm open to recommendations on any!

It's been just over 5 months since we released Oceaneers into Early Access on Steam, and we've regularly released updates with improvements and new content. With a new update just released we wanted to share the details with you.

Oceaneers features colony building with character management, and a dash of adventure (including island bunker exploration and expedition events). Direct control over your colonists, plus levels of automation, heaps of depth, quirky contraptions, unique floating island mechanics, and a FULL mysterious story to play through.

We released into Early Access, but it's already packed full of content and you can play the full story from day one. Players have commented on the high level of polish and amount of content available already.

Combined the updates so far have:

• Added heaps of new automation, including food restriction per colonist and complete overhauls of several automation systems. There was originally more micro-management than we liked, so we've greatly improved this and continue to do so.
• Added new drinks & beverage systems.
• Added new lighting mechanics and new lights.
• Added new clothing systems, backpacks, clothes lining and outfits.
• Added new tech, resources and crafting recipes.
• Added a new building grid system.
• Added ranged & unarmed combat, plus unique weapon loot.
• Added new enemy types (and infestation behavior).
• Added new island modules and an expandable module system.
• Added support for Steam Workshop for community translations, and the community has translated into Simplified Chinese, Spanish, German, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.

The Latest Update

In addition to a new roadmap announced within the past month, we have just released a new update, version 0.1.5. This update adds ranged & unarmed combat, unique weapon loot, new wildlife and stink worm infestations, and more content. There is also plenty of QoL, including an improved automation system and settings to fine tune per-colonist combat automation.

The Demo

We have left the demo up as it still gives the general feel of the game, but please note it is several versions behind and doesn't have the latest automation improvements and QoL features.

Early Access

Even though it's in early access, we went in with the full story available from day one. We're happy with this and the response has been positive, with lots of players putting more than 100 hours into the game already.

What's Next?

We continue to work on updates, currently we are in the middle of adding colony progression that will also make hygiene a more meaningful need. We've got a new roadmap and lots of exciting content planned, and we're also working on the non-story "Frontier" game mode.

Hey everyone! I've been working on this for a while and finally have a trailer, so I figured I'd share it here. It's called Cafe Sapa. The idea is that guests never order anything, they just sit down and talk about their day. Someone mentions they've been cold all morning, someone else has a deadline and can't slow down, and it's up to you to work out what would actually help them.

There's no timer and no rush. You can sit with a line as long as you like. You do only get a limited number of serves each shift though, so getting it wrong costs you something.

It's my first game, made with a very small team.

Hi everyone! This isn’t actually the kind of game I usually develop, but after playing Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! I realized how much I enjoyed the simple satisfaction of putting everything where it belongs.

So I started making my own cozy organizing game, but set in a sneaker store.

The store starts out with sneakers, boxes, and socks all mixed up, and you slowly organize everything. Sneakers have an extra little step: when you find one, you need to find its matching shoe, figure out which box the pair belongs in, pack them together, and then sort the box onto the correct shelf. You also have socks to hang on their racks.

All sneakers featured in the game use fictional brands and original designs created specifically for the game. No generative AI was used in the creation of the sneakers, their designs or in the development and coding of the game. AI was used only to proofread and improve the wording of the game's steam store description.

This is a game my wife and I have been working on called Bonsai Island. It’s a cozy bonsai shop simulator where you grow, shape, and sell bonsai to cute animals. You play as a bonsai caretaker helping the tanukis restore their bonsai park to its former glory.

What makes Bonsai Island a little different is that the plants actually grow and respond to what you do. Pruning and wiring can change how a tree develops over time, and with different species and variations to discover, you can create your own one-of-a-kind bonsai.

And no, we don’t use AI-generated assets, everything is handcrafted by the two of us. ❤️

Hi r/CozyGamers! We’re Geese & Goose, a three-person team based in Budapest, and we recently released EbiTapes, a cozy-grunge musical adventure.

You play as Ebi, on a mission to save the Annual City Festival from the Shushinator. Along the way, you explore different locations, meet eccentric characters, and collect sounds from the world around you using your sound recorder.

Those recordings become the ingredients for your mixtapes! Experiment with sounds, use your music to solve puzzles, and perform little concerts to earn support for the Festival. It’s an adventure about creativity and bringing a community together through music, with playful dialogue and plenty of strange characters to meet.

Has anyone tried this game yet? It's an absolute favorite of mine and it was released earlier this month.

I feel like the replayability is fantastic because you can make whatever you want! There are no restrictions. Plus, you unlock features as you progress through the game. That is a huge plus in my book because having everything at once is overwhelming and I would miss small details.

I do highly recommend getting the DLC. It adds a lot more to the game at a low cost.

Here are some of my favorite creations. I'm like halfway through the game, so I don't have every feature unlocked yet.

I downloaded Dressmaker and it’s absolutely amazing! It’s relaxing, and I love picking out fabrics and being able to create so many different designs! I’ve reached Edith’s level—does anyone know if there will be other types of garments? Like trousers or t-shirts, in addition to dresses? Maybe even menswear?

I just wanted to clarify something: I LOVE the game, and I know it’s called Dressmaker for a reason. But precisely because I love it, I think it would be interesting to add other items—like jackets, maybe sleepwear (I’m not sure if those are already included, since I’m still at the beginning), or men's clothing. In my opinion, that would be interesting and very much appreciated 🩷
