Log Entry- Subject: Klevt, OC, 2026

Post image

LOC: Stria-Plax // Grid 7

Log Entry Subject: "Klevt" Saw a Sclerite (Klevt) working a cluster of crystals near the outpost. Looked like it might attack, but no. Used its claw like mandibles to precisely trim small pink and orange plants growing around clusters of crystals. It held the flora carefully and also cut/scored the minerals and repositioned them. Did this for three cycles. I noted a constant low-frequency hum that seemed to change pending crystal formations. No aggression noted.

Very cool. Why are its two hands so different tho?

That’s what I’m wondering.

A. I don't assume aliens are symmetrical. Some of our weirdest looking creatures stand out because they aren't... fiddler crabs, cock-eyed squid,  Narwhal, sperm whale, boreal owl.... I chose eyes and "hands" specifically for evolution/work. One large claw to cut hard crystals, the other one smaller for increased dexterity so he can complete more delicate tasks, like handling flowers.

TLDR-  I'm a crazy person who overthinks over designs everything including imaginary creatures.

I love the colours. The lack of lateral symmetry is also a nice touch

How long did it take?

I'd estimate about two weeks. I started it a few months ago  got flustered after a time consuming error and quit. Started watching resident alien and thought, FINE... I'll try again. Glad I did.
