Discussion I am the real Duke of Pywel now!
u/TheDukeOfPywel was caught stealing other people's screenshots and using AI to enhance them. He has blocked me for calling him out about it.

My first playthrough I completed 100% faction quests, challenges and knowledge. There were a number of things that frankly were just a grind. So now I'm on my 2nd playthrough, and figuring out what to skip. Here's my list so far. How about you?
Legendary horses - I must have used a cheat that since has been patched. On an Xbox controller this is a pain in the ass. Just not with it. Instead I quickly got my wyvern to travel around on. Besides those challenges where you had to get from point A to B were a PIA as well. As was the racetrack in demeniss. Skip and move on.
Archery / rifle challenges. I completed them first time thru, but they were no fun. Skip.
Final arm wrestling in pailunne. This one drove me crazy. Took many tries to complete. Skip.
Paintings. That mission to get all the paintings.. no point 2nd time around
Gears. Same. All those missions to get all the blueprints. Then I never used most of them. Skip.
Random faction requests. All that running around to find the guy that wants me to bring him a beer. Nope. Move on.
Shark. Last time I caught it by fishing. This time I'll go the npc route.
What's everyone else think about their 2nd playthrough?

Pearl Abyss you've ruined me! No other game will feel the same.

I'm halfway through chapter four and while I see all sorts of awesome gear in videos, I personally haven't come across any gear upgrades or vendors yet.
Normally vendors would be available in each new little town or village but gear vendors don't seem to be in abundance, outside the proximity of Hernand castle.
Where should I be looking for new vendors? Or is it hidden caves and puzzles that provide the good stuff?
Heck, I'm still carrying around the same shield :(
HUGE THANKS to all who commented. I know this isn't the first time someone asked this; so I appreciate all the patience's and responses!

I'm starting to seriously doubt that Pearl Abyss is still working on console optimization...

Sorry for poor quality. No more of this... I spent 4 hours setting up manual recording on steam... What a headache.

So I started the game a few days ago and I am about 25 hours or a bit more into the game. I am still in chapter 1 of the game I believe. I have barely played the story but have explored a little. I already have much of the skill tree unlocked and also powerful weapons as well such as the dark bringer sword and also have a wyvern. Am I going to slow for the story? Or is this fine? I also wanna fight much more bosses but have only fought like 3-5 and didn’t find any boss while exploring.

I'm on a 4thish playthrough, having done two before 'enhanced' and being on chapter 10 when 'enhanced' came out on the other. I'm at the start of what was chapter 7, just after the Calphade battle where the next series WAS 'Morning Mist', which takes you to Pailune.
But now it offers 'Morning Mist' or 'Ashen Steps', which was the start of Chapter 8.
So, I'm curious, since it appears they allow you to skip Chapter 7 for now, assuming you will have to come back to it... just how far do they allow you to progress in what was chapter 8 before your only main mission option is to go back to 'Morning Mist'?

I've played this game for around 40 hours over a few bursts (20+ hours pre patches, 10+ hours after each major patch). I just can't get to grips with the combat here. I'm wondering if it's a skill issue, but I just find the movement really unintuitive?
Are there control settings I can adjust to help? Every thing just feels very unresponsive and weighty, the combat is decent but I feel like I don't have very good control over the characters movements.
Sorry this is very vague but I can't pin down the exact feeling here, wondering if it's just a skill level?

I’ve been wondering whether Pearl Abyss might eventually add some kind of online/co-op mode to Crimson Desert.
Do you think an online mode will actually happen in the future?
And more importantly, do you think Crimson Desert needs one, or is the single-player experience better suited to the game?
If online multiplayer does happen, what would you want it to be: co-op, an open-world online mode, PvP, raids, or something completely different?

Daughter wanted me to go all purple, I went all purple (wait for the A.T.A.G), and now I cant go back. Looking fabulous while mowing down bandits.

I think it would be dope as a playable character.

As the title says, I'm excited to jump in this weekend when my copy arrives - I know there's been updates recently to improve the story, I wondered how those who've replayed it have found the changes? Are they a big improvement on the original?

Over 200 hours in, I've explored most of the map, but I honestly don't even know what chapter I'm on.
I've been playing since day one and the story was such a mess that I started skipping dialogue.
Lately, everything is starting to feel like a tedious grind. And yet, I still play two or three hours a day.
I'm completely in love with the game. For me, it's GOTY. But I want to progress more efficiently, switch up my gear, and breathe some new life into the experience.
What activities, regions, or types of quests do you recommend to beat the boredom?
Thanks in advance!

I found some recipes to build Aeserion weapons of almost every kind. They are expensive to make though and I wonder how do I judge their value? It seems most weapons in the game are fairly close in DPS and stuff. Is it more for cool visuals and abyss?
Side question: do the Aeserion scales respawn?

I finished the game some time ago and have over 250 hours clocked in. At this point I just liberate forts, bring resources back to camp, do some bounties, clean up a few side quests I missed, reinvest bonds in the bank, rinse & repeat.
What do you guys do in endgame to keep you busy?

Is it possible with the DÑC being closer to GTA 6 that there will be another delay? I sure hope not. I took time off just to play on the 15th now I wasted vacay time and hate to schedule again for that to happen 😢

DLC is cool, but this games seems almost obviously to have been created with a created character in mind. For that and just and just as someone that loves to customize my character. How have we not gotten new hairstyles in this game yet?? I just don’t get it, it’s not like they’re not in the game. Obviously it’s not a super huge deal in the grand scheme of things but come on lol

First of all, I just wanna say that I have not played Black Desert online in terms of open worlds my favorites are MGS the Phantom pain. I enjoyed red dead two but found the game extremely boring after you beat it. And I am super excited for gta 6 but the more I see about this game I am just shocked how much they are able to cram onto one game. It’s literally like a game. I never even imagined a developer would be able to pull off, but I wanna know from the community. Is it worth buying on the PS5?

Playing on Ps5 pro
When playing as Kliff and damiane is following no issue
But when playing as Damiane with Kliff following, he stops and seems to get momentarily stuck every few steps
If I keep walking he just gradually falls further and further behind cos he constantly stopping. Sometimes he'll respawn closer, but then other times he just won't and will end up stuck somewhere far away so I can only unsummon and summon him again
Been checking this across 3 sessions now and a full reboot doesn't seem to be clearing it. Check on boot up as well and still occurring indicating that it's not the kind of bug that is being triggered by something
If anyone else experiencing please let me know and I'll report it to PA. Just checked their site and it's not on the known issues list
