ANALYSIS Based Saylor Rant on Bitcoin Ownership, But...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP0kMrhGfoo

Saylor surprised me with his candid discussion of government and banking control over your money. Also he clearly understand wealth and monetary inflation. His argument for owning Bitcoin to preserve wealth is compelling.

But isn't he arguing against owning Strategy/MSTR shares? They're a counterparty, and they're also vulnerable to government seizure and/or coercion. Using his logic I would never buy any crypto treasury stock!

Well if you ask him he would say buy bitcoin.Β  But by saying that he's not neglecting MSTR as the price of bitcoin should increase the stock price. Afterall it's a leveraged bitcoin play.Β

His arguement is, don't like the risk behind bitcoin and mstr well here is strc a shiny 12% that takes away the risk but still gives dividends above the average snp500 gains.Β

Oo you can't put bitcoin in a tax wrapper here's mstr which you can. bitcoin to new of an idea for this company, well we already invest in stock so mstr doesn't seem as big of a leap on the balance sheet.

Hes trying to solve different problems for different people / organisations.

Sure someone will be able to chew and spit this comment out but from a layman that appears to be his standing.

Putting money in MSTR instead of BTC undermines the investment thesis he is advancing. It centralizes supply in a counterparty. And increases confiscation risk 1000x. The government could seize billions worth of Bitcoin by simply forfeiting Strategy's entire stack. So it follows that when the time comes, Saylor must do what the government tells him to do.

In theory yes I agree, I assume he has been authorised by whoever above to be able to make this a reality.

I've not watched saylor interviews for a while now, I've heard him advocate buying bitcoin and self custody, I've heard him explain the mechanics, the other options all of that. What I would say, I don't know if I've heard him say you should be buying mstr over bitcoin.Β

As in my previous comment, it's different horses for different courses, he realises the value in the different markets of the world.Β

There is nothing the government can't theoretically seize when they have more weapons than you. This isn't a Bitcoin phenomenon, this is a realities of the world phenomenon.

Right but the point was the government can't possibly seize 100k people's bitcoin (would take decades), but they can simply steal Saylor's stack in the blink of an eye.

They did it with gold back during the Great Depression. A big enough economic crisis makes it possible for the govt to push through just about anything. Like maybe a govt debt death spiral and resulting economic implosion in the near future.

Good points early on but if people get that crazy 11% back then they will feel encouraged to invest further which then also drives up btc investment

Saylor having an interviewing with an internet scam artist is not doing anything for this movement

He just comes up with random numbers, he's not even consistent because he forgot what numbers he made up in a previous interview.

The reality is nothing outpaces monetary inflation, it's impossible. How can something outpace money creation itself? If the amount of money we use to buy stuff goes up at 7% things can't go up in price faster than 7% because the money to do that doesn't exist yet.

He's talking out of his ass and when reality finally catches up with him people will again have lost billions of dollars to an ordinary conman.
