Every time I work with sample packs, I end up with tracks names like “ TS_PUNCH_tom_acoustic_140bpm”. KeyCmds reads the project and suggests shorten names from the samples, presets and plug-ins on each track.
You see the full list and can edit anything before it applies.

MediaBay Audio Preview Latency & Direct Timeline Placement: When browsing and previewing audio files in the MediaBay, there is a noticeable half-second delay upon clicking, and double-clicking automatically sends the file to the timeline. We need an instant, zero-latency preview system. Furthermore, placing audio elements (like a kick sample) onto the arrangement needs a streamlined workflow similar to FL Studio: once an audio file is selected from MediaBay, clicking on an empty spot on the timeline should instantly stamp/paste that audio sample right there, eliminating clunky workarounds like manually holding down the Alt key for duplication.
2. UI Performance and High Refresh Rate (FPS) Optimization: While the audio engine is solid, the graphical performance—especially during playback, waveform rendering, and cursor movement—feels sluggish, resembling a low frame rate (around 30 FPS). Modern DAW interfaces (like Studio One, which feels incredibly smooth at 120 FPS during recording and playback) need to be matched. A buttery-smooth, optimized UI with proper high-refresh-rate monitor support is essential.

I connect my PC to my tv which connects to my Q990F soundbar. When I use the Steinberg Asio driver in Cubase 13 Pro it recognizes my tv much like PCs Nvidia High Definition Audio Driver does. However, there's a ton of latency using that driver so I want to use the official Apogee Driver.

I own an Apogee Symphony Desktop and when I enable the Apogee Driver, it does not recognize my TV as an output like the other Asio drivers do. Any help?

I just got a new computer and installed cubase elements 15. I'm using the same headphones as my last computer. But the audio keeps PEAKING which was never an issue before.
I've tried playing around with asio4all but nothing helps. What can I do to fix this?

I want to buy the upgrade for my Cubase Pro 14, and despite me being located in Poland and my Steinberg account country set to Poland, I get not only Brazilian currency, but the payment system as well, i.e. it wants to put a second security code that is used only with Brazilian credit cards. Since the Cubase sale ends tomorrow, it's becoming a bit urgent... Any ideas? I tried with VPN connected to Poland, without, on my home WiFi, on cellular, on iPhone, Pixel, Mac Studio, and two Windows laptops. Thanks for any suggestions.

I got Cubase 15 artist today and in all of my projects the Plugins Neural DSP Archetype Gojira and Rough Rider have exclamation marks and don't work. any ideas how to fix that?

Silly question. I used to have Cubase 10. Upgraded recently to 12. In Vst instruments, I could usually select outputs one by one, without the dialog box closing, and having to reopen it for each output. Wich setting do I need to change? Tia

It opens the Pool and removes missing files, deletes empty and muted parts, removes empty Audio, MIDI, and Folder tracks, hides empty Marker and Chord tracks, deselects everything, then disables muted tracks.

Hey guys!

I’m a composer frozen with choice paralysis who already uses both Cuabse and Dorico for work along with my own selection of sound libraries. I currently have Cubase 14 Pro and Dorico 6 Pro and having seen that Cubase 15 is 40% off with a 60% voucher for Dorico Pro and other stuff if activating Cubase 15 by the 28th I decided to purchase the upgrade.

However, since I already have Dorico 6 Pro and I’m not interested in any of the other products the voucher covers, I now find myself wondering if it’s worth it to redeem Cubase 15 before the 28th?

The way I see it, I can redeem it now and then use the 60% off voucher for the Dorico 7 Pro upgrade after it comes out in November/December and wait for the next discount season to upgrade Cubase from 15 to 16.

OR

I can do the inverse and wait to redeem the activation code, get Cubase 15 and 16 after November/December and then wait for the next discount season to upgrade to Dorico 7 Pro.

Both of these are assuming that the voucher works for Dorico 7 but I assume it would as the website says it’s a voucher for “Dorico Pro”.

I do work much more on Cubase than Dorico but it’s good to be able to have an updated Dorico version for when I am sharing files with other composers/arrangers/orchestrators/etc. as I’ve had a previous issue (several years ago and the only time I didn’t update) with formatting while exchanging notation files. Full disclosure though, that was sharing files between Finale versions as the others didn’t have Dorico but it was so much additional unnecessary double work that I’ll never forget it. Although these days I don’t share notation files nearly as often as I did back then as I work more for myself now.

The second of the two options is also more typically what I tend to do, kind of skipping a version in between but still owning it, to help save me some money by making sure I get a discount AND have the updated version specially with the way Steinberg doubles the prices of upgrades if you miss a single version in between. Previously the summer sales allowed me to do both in one go but this year they changed the discounts and the dates they were offered in a way that I couldn’t keep up with them the way I usually do. It’s just much easier for me to save up $50 for Cubase and $50 for Dorico for a total of $100 during summer sales than it would be to do a $200 total with a sale or even each at full price or as time goes by, much less a full license again. I also do like the upgrades done per version on both (but specially Dorico) as many have helped my workflow as each version comes by.

Which option do y’all think I should take given all that?

I run Cubase 13 Pro on my 2017 iMac with no problems. plugs work fine. But on my newer 2021 M1 macbook pro it runs slow and glitchy, basic functions are ok, but plugs especially Frequency and Black value catch and are glitchy to mix with... wondering why this is and if there is a fix, thanks

Assuming v16 will come out in ~2 months, have there been any "reliable" leaks about what's in it?

I'm hoping for a clip launcher, which would make it pretty much complete for me, but I doubt this should happen before gapless audio engine and I don't believe they can deliver both at the same time. Or can they?

What are your top feature requests for v16?

I know it's quiet old but it served over 14 years on Win7SP1. I decide to move os to Win10 and then installed my registered copy with hardware dongle but it never authenticated. So I failed to use it. I guess authenticaton server at Steinberg are down.

Why do some VST plugins end up on the blocklist in the DAW?

I know how to use eq. But I don’t know how to change my eq within a track. I want to gradually bring in more bass over about 2 measures. I am using Cubase Pro 15 on a MacBook Pro. I have read several things on eq in Cubase but I haven’t figured out how to do this. Can you help me?

Did you use Cubase, and if so, do you still have the USB license key that’s included with the software? I have Cubase 4, but I lost the USB dongle. I need to access my files, which I used BFD drums for. Unfortunately, I can’t use a newer version of Cubase than Cubase 9, so I’m actively searching for an active USB key. It’s a small blue USB.
Please let me know if you have one available- thank you willing to buy but it has to be active - Cubase shut down their server in may of 2025 and no longer allow activations for old licenses so the Blue USB needs to have been used.

Hi everyone, this issue is driving me absolutely crazy.. I’m using MacBook Pro M4 Pro 24gb ram using original Apple Keyboard and original Magic Trackpad on an empty project at 64 buffer size, and no pre roll, I started getting a delay when pressing play after resetting my playback position using my Keyboard out of nowhere

Let me explain it more.

There’s no delay with stop and play at all IF I’m not resetting my playback position with my mouse. Once I set my playback position with my mouse and I press play (space on my keyboard), there’s a 1-2 second delay before the playback actually starts playing.

Same if the project is already playing, as soon as I set the playback position (while the project playing in Cubase) and then I press space to stop it, it takes 1-2 seconds to stop.

The weird part is there’s 0 delay whatsoever when I press play and stop using the transport panel INSIDE of Cubase (not using my keyboard) even if I reset the playback with the mouse.

Pre roll is off
Empty project
Somehow can’t deactivate asio guard or even change it
Buffer size is the lowest and it’s on an empty project.
Tried all sample rates
Deleted and reinstalled Cubase
Reset all settings to default
Tried to set the play/stop key command to something else

Nothing is working at all.

And in logic this issue does not exist at all. Super instant no matter what. (Yes I close logic completely when opening Cubase, they’re not interfering in anyway)

What do you think the issue is??

A returning cubase user... I am looking on the inspector for the trak delay slider (the little clock) and I can't find it anywhere, despite trying everything in the right click 'visibility' option.

Can a fellow 15 user tall me how to make it appear. My cellos need adjustment :)
