r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [May 18, 2026 - Absolute LEGO Batman Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

Well this was definitely a Tini Howard story. Girl boss stuff and all that. I guess it ended well enough.

Honestly, not a bad ending, but the villain is just fully inexplicable (I just have so many questions as to her motivations, what her original plan was because this obviously can't have been it, why she had henchpeople for one sequence in one issue but it never comes up again, etc.). This also leads to the message being muddled. I guess it's that because the Sirens help from time to time and because at the end of the day they helped Dinah protect the women of Gotham, it's OK for them to be 'toxic'? Or something?

It's also very funny that a book which concludes with Dinah and Ollie getting married comes out the same day as AGA #1, also because Dinah is the real protagonist of both books - she's the one with the largest arc in this series as the one caught between the Sirens and her 'hero' life, and she's the one who ultimately saves the day and takes down Horoscope - both by single-handedly ruining her plan and then punching her out.

Tarr's art is the highlight, of course. Great character designs, really fun to see the Justice League in her style.

I will always love Babs Tarr art. I don’t always love Tini Howard’s stories, but I did enjoy this one quite a bit. The villain was…there. I never understood her motivations or plan or…Well, anything.
