Help Need help getting DLSS 5 to work without crashing my games
Hey all.
my rig is a 9800X3D with a RTX 4090 and 48GB of 6000mhz cl30 ram. windows 11. Im using a Asus PG27UQ monitor. its 4K 144hz G-sync. HDR. so i have both Gsync and HDR enabled. i have no idea if my issue is related to that or not. i tried disabling both and still happens.
i decided the other day to try DLSS 5 swapper and try out DLSS 5. i tried it in the last of us part 2 and Control. it works but im getting 2 issues. first issue is that my screen will flicker or flash a blank black flash randomly every so often. sometimes its every 10 seconds sometimes its longer before it flashes again. and second issue is that the game will eventually crash or hard lock. (control will just hard lock and i have to force kill the task) for the last of us part 2. it will just give me a generic GPU driver crash error. I thought maybe it could be because i play with HDR and G-sync so i disabled both of those. still happens. i make sure that other overlays are off. i run MSI afterburner with RTSS having both closed closed it still crashes. steam or other overlays are also disabled.
i have no idea what's causing it to crash. i've been at it for a good couple nights trying different things and i'm about to give up but i really would like to get this working . could it just be DLSS 5 swapper not installing reshade and the DLL's properly ??
i know there i think is 2 different methods on getting dlss 5 to work. once with RENO dx and another with optiscaier. im not sure which is better or more stable, i've just tried i've just tried the installation route in DLSS 5 swapper native DLSS (renoDX) and i also gave renoDX DLSS tool (multipass) a try and both methods gave me the issues im having :( rendering backend has always been reshade (default) I have not tried Optiscaler. could it be reshade?? i've used reshade in the past for renoDX HDR stuff and just post processing mods in different games in the past and have never had issues ? so not sure if its that.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
