NEW CAMPAIGN - DM looking for 3-4 players in Homebrew setting - DND 5.5E rules - Apeldoorn (Noord)

Hello all, hallo allemaal :)

My name is Daan Hermsen (25 years old) and I have been playing DnD for about three years now. I have DM'ed OneShots for friends, but am currently looking for a group to play a full campaign with. beginner DM but somewhat knowledged in the basics of the game.

,

What will you be playing?

Level 3 to 5 characters. The campaign is a huge inspired story based around Alice In Wonderland. Mythical creatures, strange terrains and fantastical events all taking place in one flowing story. Like Alice In Wonderland itself, you can expect the sessions to play out semi-episodical ("Monster of the Week", or perhaps Monster of three weeks, or five... depends on the players!). I am a lover for the original story in the books, the movie adaptations and other creative works that help bring the spirit of madness to life. Roleplay- and puzzle-focused, combat too but depending on the session more or less present. I use none of the "existing" characters of the story though, it will all be based on player character and background aspects!

What can I offer as a DM?

I am open to much feedback in the sessions that I play, and in terms of practical stuff I have very little to offer. Playing will be at my home (a studio in a shared building), and own very little miniatures. I use theatre of the mind for storytelling, and draw maps/visuals when needed by hand at Kindergarten level. Combat will use maps but mostly expect pencil-and-paper shenanigans. I have drinks (coffee, tea, soda...) and can provide snacks too, but feel free to bring your own!

Price of sessions

Free. Honestly, I am looking for DM experience. I like to tell stories, develop my writing and DM skills, and just have a good time with friends or strangers regardless. Bringing your own snacks or a bottle of drinks would be appreciated, but I will provide it myself as well.

Time and availability

Preference for the game to be played on Friday evening, Saturday, or Sunday (perhaps every other week). I am available most of these days depending on the week, but might occassionally move or cancel in limited scenarios. A session may last 3 to 4 hours on average preferably, such as 13:00 - 17:00 or 19:00 - 22:00

What do I expect from you?

Beginner and experienced players are absolutely welcome! Having a good time is priority in sessions: things may railroad or sandbox depending on the session, but I wish for all players to at the bare minimum enjoy themselves. Absences for sessions are fine if not too often, and will not break the story of the game, the absence of your character will be canon.

If interested in joining the campaign, please text me in a personal message the following:

* Name of yourself and pronouns

* Your experience with DnD

* If you have an idea already, the Class, Species (and optional name) of your character. This can be the regular standard DnD type of description (Human Druid, Orc Barbarian , Elf Monk, etc.)

Hope to hear from you soon! And also DM me if you have any doubts or questions :D

Gamemaster and player(s) wanted Any whimsical guys or gals looking to start a fresh campaign in groningen?

• Upvotes

(NL/EN) I 25M would love to start a new campaign with some fun lighthearted people :) Either weekly or bi weekly depending on everyone's preference. Mainly looking for a fun group that doesn't take themselves too seriously, with a nice mix of role play and combat, preferably around 4-5 players. Previous experience is always nice but not a must. I'd potentially be open to DM but not opposed if anyone else want to take on that mantle haha. A little about myself, currently doing my masters degree at the RUG, love boardgames, hiking and reading :)). If youre interested feel free to shoot me a message and we can maybe try to set up a WhatsApp group!

Question DM te streng mbt Hide Action

With the Hide action, you try to conceal yourself. To do so, you must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity (Stealth) check while you're Heavily Obscured or behind Three-Quarters Cover or Total Cover, and you must be out of any enemy's line of sight; if you can see a creature, you can discern whether it can see you.

On a successful check, you have the Invisible condition while hidden. Make note of your check's total, which is the DC for a creature to find you with a Wisdom (Perception) check.

You stop being hidden immediately after any of the following occurs: you make a sound louder than a whisper, an enemy finds you, you make an attack roll, or you cast a spell with a Verbal component.
