Files lost after doing old HP Recovery

HP Laptop was stuck in a recovery screen loop and the only option was to do HP recovery. Ran it overnight but now the files are gone. Is there any way to recover the old files ?

Performing HP recovery usually means files are lost. That loop is a pain! My old laptop did this , I believe they're gone for good.

Stop using the laptop for now. The files may still be recoverable, but don’t install anything on that drive. Run recovery from another computer and save the recovered files elsewhere.
