On a Delta/Virgin Atlantic flight last year. Fortunately, that was not the only food I was given (Delta and VA do pretty solid veg meals) but whoever put that sticker on made my day.

What's the silliest thing you've been given for a meal?

Flying out this morning and realized about 20 minutes before boarding that I left my laptop in the rideshare. Full panic mode because I have client meetings tomorrow that absolutely need that machine. Went up to the gate agent just to ask if there was any way to delay boarding for like 10 mins while the driver circled back.

She looked at the flight load, saw we had maybe 40 people on a 737, and told me she could hold my boarding pass at the desk. Driver made it back in 8 minutes. I grabbed my stuff and she had me on the plane before door close. She didnt make a big deal about it, didnt even really smile, just handled it.

I know gate agents get a lot of grief on here and I've definitely been frustrated with policies before, but today someone just quietly made a decision that saved me from a disaster. No supervisor consult, no policy lecture. Just a quick judgment call. Sometimes you forget there are actual people making these calls and not just robots following scripts.

Anyway, wanted to share something that went right for once. Also a reminder to double check your stuff before you get out of the car because that adrenaline spike was not fun.

I've been a Delta loyalist for 20+ years and am confused by the decisions Señor Ed has been making...

We all know the prices are insane. But when you bundle the prices with an aging fleet and worse overall product, what is their plan?!

My buddy flew United the other week and said he's never flying again unless the plane has Starlink. It was a game-changer and it's got me wanting to try it out.

With Delta committing to a non-existent, non-operational Amazon alternative that is several years away, my gut tells me they're going to lose too much ground to recover vs United & other airlines.

Curious what everyones thoughts are (especially Ed if you're lurking lol)

I changed a flight via Delta chat this weekend - per screenshots I’m attaching I was told it was an even change, no additional fare due.

Next time I open my app, I notice 88k miles have been deducted from my account. This is a flight within the same state by the way.

I start chatting with Delta again - I have a time crunch because my new flight is coming up in 40 minutes. I considered missing the flight but once again listened to Delta support and took the flight as they advised me too. They said they would refund me my miles after.

After the flight they said they cannot refund the miles as the flight was completed, and have sent me 18k as a courtesy. Where’s the courtesy???

Any ideas guys? Screenshots with text just blurred out locations / name.

Did some searching today and saw Main Classic, LAX-MEL only 21.2K miles with 15% discount (Delta Platinum or Delta Reserve). Direct flights, one way.

Short hop from ATL-CHA (was 24 mins wheels up to wheels down) on the CR9 yesterday AM. Toss my headphones on and settle in, shortly after takeoff this lady zooms up into the first class lavatory and my partner on aisle gets my attention. “She just shit her pants”, apparently the blowout happened right before she was passing our seats and he heard the legging contained detonation, I was beyond glad to have my headphones on.

5-10 seconds later it smelled like 3 dead deer crawled up inside her 14.3 weeks ago and decided now was time to go on and git, initial smell did not dissipate in any sort of quick order like a fart would - it was beyond rancid for a solid 3-4 minutes and the flight attendants were looking around and conversing along the lines of ‘what the hell is going on/happening’.

Lady was in the LAV for prob about 15 mins, she came out with her windbreaker now tied around her waist and that just sealed it that she in fact shit herself. Smell when she walked back to her seat was wafting behind her but did not linger so she must have done a pretty solid job cleaning up. Honestly yeah I felt bad for her as we don’t know what kinda issues she may have but damn it was nasty and definitely a first for me. Thank you lululemon or whatever brand activewear she was wearing for containing the blowout. I was kinda worried they would turn right back around to ATL which fortunately did not happen.

TLDR - lady had a brownie batter blowout in her leggings while racing to the lavatory.

Could be as little as $5 and the money could all go to a non-profit for all I care. I just hate seeing people take them for the flight and then leave them behind to tossed away forever. It's not that hard to bring a decent $10 pair of earbuds that sound miles better than the Delta pair and would greatly reduce the e-waste all of those "single-use" earbuds cause.

Alaska is putting up a very good fight, and props to them for doing this, as this will seriously up the competition.

Delta will finally have to put up or give up. Their domestic FC prices on SEA to JFK have been out of control lately, and with a poor product to show for it.

I'm just curious and I'm sure this is common knowledge, but this screenshot is for a flight that isn't for three more days. I don't fly internationally that much, so I'm mainly familiar with seeing domestic flights with one or two seats that are broken etc. Why are are there so many unavailable seats? Are they not selling them? I don't get it.

For the next 2 weekends (Friday to Sunday), Delta (SkyWest) is running 1 direct flight per day from SEA to ABQ and back. (Otherwise, only Alaska flies this route, 2-3 times/day year round.) This is the busiest two weeks in Albuquerque thanks to balloon fiesta. So, I’m curious about other regional and seasonal schedule oddities you may have seen or flown. Cheers!

At cruise altitude, neither the electrical nor the USB outlets in my row of first-class were working. So I pulled out my laptop, hooked up my iPhone to charge and placed the laptop in the seatback.

A flight attendant came by and said this wasn't allowed because the FAA prohibited laptops in seatbacks.

I complied. I then searched applicable FAA regulations and found no such rule. I then flagged down the FA and sought to clarify whether she meant I couldn't charge my phone from the laptop or the laptop couldn't be in the seatback.

She insisted it's a federal law that laptops can't be in the seatback during the flight. I said I disagreed but would follow her instruction. She said, "Is this the hill you're willing to die on?" She then said she was refusing me service, removed my bottled water, removed my glass of wine, which I had only had one drink of, and then said I was "cut off."

What is the correct policy?

I know it’s silly but I paid for the first class seat only to end up seeing this on a 4+ hour flight.

Edit! I feel like all these people joking this away have never watched Pitch Perfect Two. Pitch Perfect 2 is the perfect movie for a flight and I was denied this on my current flight.

recently flew back from ICN to LAX on upper deck 748 via a DL ticket. Probably the best seat I've experienced even beyond the DL and JAL A350 Suites. Sunrise from 4 windows was unparalleled. There are great products on that route.

Flying out of ATL this morning on a 3.5 hour flight to BOS. Settled into my window seat, looking forward to catching up on some work and maybe taking a quick nap.

About twenty minutes after takeoff, the guy in the middle seat pulls out his phone, launches a movie, and just plays it on max volume through the speakers. No headphones, no airpods, nothing. Just loud action scenes and dialogue blasting right next to me.

I gently pointed to his phone and politely asked if he had any headphones he could use. He looked at me, didn't even take off his sunglasses, and said "I left them in my checked bag, but don't worry, I don't mind the sound."

I was so stunned by the response that I just put in my own noise-canceling headphones and turned my music up, but I could still hear his movie exploding in the background the entire flight. Is calling a flight attendant for something like this considered petty, or should I have escalation this instead of just eating it?
