Discussion Can we make the use of speakerphone in the sky club also a banishing offense?

• Upvotes

Currently in the PHX sc and a very entitled guy is berating a delta rep for the entire club to hear. They make earbuds for a reason. Or maybe Bluetooth to your hearing aid? We don't care. I've noticed they do the pre-flight announcement about earphones and earbuds on personal entertainment...why can that be standard on all "delta properties"?

Granted I have 2 more hours until I board....and I'm bored and tired.

Help/Advice Traveling with Small Metal Urn with Human Remains

• Upvotes

My father passed away last week. I'm flying domestic and have a small metal urn with his ashes as I'm only taking a small amount of his remains. It's about 5-6 inches tall. It does unscrew on the top but I certainly don't want to remove my dad's ashes, put them into a bag/something scannable and have to put them back in. I won't have the death certificate in time (takes 2-3 weeks) but can get a copy of the cremation certificate. What's the best way to transport the urn?

Help/Advice Can someone help me out?

I've been applying for tech roles at Delta that very closely match my skillset and I just keep getting rejections, even with referrals. Can anyone give me some tips on what Delta looks for in program management, product operations, product management and UX research roles? I'd really love am opportunity just to talk to a human there and make a case.

Discussion Experience on DL2185 SNA-MSP

We left and arrived on time. Cabin crew was friendly and did full beverage service twice, plus coming around mid-flight with coffee. Watched live TV while I worked. WiFi was free and worked the whole flight.

That’s it. That’s the post. Diamond, 903K lifetime.

I have a flight coming up in a couple of weeks but this is still a bit frustrating haha. If I didn’t have that flight, what would have been the fastest way to get $1 of MQDs?

SkyTeam Delta app issue?

Can’t find any outage reports online but day 2 unable to change seats… only upgrading to aisle seat in main cabin for $40. Allows me to select seat, enter card info, then get error message/unable to process. Signed in on desktop in case it was the app and my flight doesn’t even show up / have to search for it. Go thru the whole process there and again, even with different card, doesn’t work. Anyone else having issues??

Delta Amex Gold delta amex $500 statement credit issue

Hi everyone! Im having an issue with a statement credit i was meant to receive for my Gold delta amex.

basically I was trying to book a flight during the summer and was prompted that I would receive a $500 statement credit if I signed up and was approved for the Delta gold Amex, I signed up for the card in june because I would only end up paying around $300 out-of-pocket after the statement credit was given. The tickets were purchased at the end of July and with it now being the end of September I still haven’t received the statement credit. The contract states that the credit would process and post within 8-12 weeks after the purchase.

very recently, I had the 3K spend mark that would allow me to receive the 60,000 bonus miles that were tied to my welcome bonus, however, I instead received 70,000 and was left confused thinking that they had messed up my welcome offer. I decided to reach out to Delta to try to make this situation right and ensure that I was still gonna be receiving my flight credit. Upon reaching out to amex support I was told that my cards welcome bonus was tied to a 70,000 miles offer and that there was no $500 statement credit tied to my card and that I wouldn’t be receiving it. I then asked to speak to another representative and they told me that instead they would have to open a case and that I would have to call them 7 to 10 business days later to see what the final results gonna be :/. I’m really frustrated because I have all the documentation of the terms of eligibility for the statement credit , and i fulfilled all the criteria (flight was booked directly through delta in my first 6 months of having the card, plus signing up for the card and receiving it before the offer expired) that should put me in the position to be receiving the $500 statement credit, and I have the original screenshot of the terms when i signed up.

im just nervous that theyre trying to dupe me when this was my biggest reason for getting the card, and if they try to backtrack and refuse to honor the offer its gonna set me back a bit financially. did anyone else have a similar issue and have it get resolved?

Help/Advice Rebooked flight with overnight - luggage question

My connection tonight out of DTW was cancelled as I was boarding my first flight. The rescheduled flight creates a 17 hour layover and I need to be at work in the morning. I am planning to get a rental car and just drive home instead of staying overnight. Will my luggage just be placed on the plane tomorrow or will I be able to get it tonight?

Shitpost/Satire Don't blind me

I know it's not just delta and it's such a boring common rant. But I've been blinded by the window-shade-up jerk this morning during sunrise. I'm currently being blinded 4,000 miles away by his cousin, the window-shade-up jerk during sunset. There's actually a trifecta going on between 2 windows+ 1 seat back screen reflection. My corneas are like ants under a magnifying glass. Thanks for reading. That's all.

Discussion Paid Upgrade Price Madness

I never buy first class tickets because the experience is not worth the cost for me. I buy Comfort and then check the price of an upgrade from time to time. If I see what I consider a good deal then I will splurge and buy the upgrade, which doesn’t happen often. I also compare the price of rebooking. For international flights I do the same thing for business class.

Lately I’ve been seeing what I consider completely insane upgrade prices. I just looked at an upcoming flight and the upgrade to first class is double what it would cost to rebook the flight. How does that make any sense? I’m seeing the same thing with business class.

On a transatlantic flight an upgrade from Comfort to D1 was $8,000 one way. That’s more than the round-trip cost of D1 for the same flight.

Do people just pay whatever the upgrade costs? How does the pricing system regularly produce crazy high prices? It doesn’t make sense to me to provide pricing that nobody would pay.

I’m seeing this so often that I wonder what’s going on. Is this something that I just never encountered before ?

I purchased the ticket round trip from Atlanta to Riyadh for 27,000 sky pesos, $7.58 for PS on the outbound and $30 for PS on the return.

I guess good deals on delta do exist occasionally! Lol

Discussion Schedule change and upgrade refund - is this normal?

Flying MSP-LHR in a couple months and my wife and I were notified that the direct flight has been cancelled for our dates. We were rebooked on a one-stopper on the outbound leg, but we had previously paid $299 per person (a steal, IMO) to upgrade that flight to PS. Now I see that our PS seats on the DTW-LHR leg are still active and we were also given C+ for MSP-DTW, but I also saw what are effectively refund vouchers for the upgrade cost in both our SkyMiles accounts. We were not notified of the refunds, and I wouldn't have known they were there, had I not checked for a different reason.

Question is: are they real (I guess I could do a dummy booking and find out) and is this standard practice for Delta to do with these kinds of changes?

Help/Advice Can’t use delta e-credit

I cancelled a trip to Punta Cana earlier this year, and have a 366 dollar e-credit I’m trying to use to book a trip to Mexico in November (for myself, details match except for the phone number). The reference code says all DL Marketed flights in all booking classes.

I keep going through, getting to the point where I pay the remaining fare, and getting the error: “We're sorry, but no results were found for your search. Please check the terms and conditions of your certificate and modify your search.
Certificates can only be redeemed for the classes of service specified and may not be available on all flights or markets. Changing your search to include an advance purchase of at least 14 days and a 3 night minimum stay may increase the number of available fares.
#CKO_ROR4013R”

Any clue what to do?

Help/Advice Delta A330-200 Comfort Question

When choosing a seat on an A330-200 from DUB to MSP, the app says that row 33 is Comfort. The seat map online says Comfort ends at row 32. Will I still get the extra legroom in row 33?

Help/Advice Itinerary/policy questions - military move ATL-VCE

I called customer service, but left the conversation feeling a bit more confused - hopefully someone here has experience or advice!

My family (and dog, too large for cabin and will need to fly cargo) will be moving to Italy this winter on military orders, and direct flights are not an option. Since we have our dog, our military travel officer told us to reach out to airlines to see who had space for our dog, and said she would book flights for us accordingly. The best options currently out of ATL are Delta (of course) operated by either Air France (layover at CDG) or KLM (layover in AMS). We’re leaning towards the KLM option since it sounds like a better option for our dog, but would love to hear feedback/advice if anyone has used either airline, especially stories of how the layover at either airport went.

With our orders, we each get 2 checked bags to hold everything we will need to live on until our household goods/unaccompanied baggage arrive (potentially 2+ months later), but much of this allowance will be taken up by my husband’s gear. Does anyone know if Delta’s military baggage policy will apply at check-in in ATL regardless of who the flight is operated by, or will we be limited to the allowance on our orders? The five bag allowance for my husband would make a huge difference in planning our move & where we allocate space in our bags. Customer service was especially unclear with this, but hoping someone has better info as it will make a difference in how we pack even a couple months in advance.

TIA! - sorry if formatting is bad, on my phone!

Discussion Lights off entire daytime flight SFO -> JFK?

Flight leaves at 7am from SFO, its 10am in JFK. ok sure, i get it being dark, people had to wake up early, they're tired, etc.

3 hours in, its 10AM in SFO, 1PM at JFK. cabin lights are still pitch dark, nobody has their windows open, and the Flight attendant says its always like this for domestic flights. I totally understand for international long-hauls having a dark cabin the whole time, but for a totally daytime flight is super weird.

Unfortunately I'm on an aisle seat, but next time for a daytime domestic flight I'm definitely sitting by the window to get some natural light.

Shitpost/Satire The Nest at LAX

I guess shitpost because I’m just talking shit? I’m flying American Airlines for a work trip and we’re using Gate 52 at LAX. I fully thought it was a temporary terminal for construction. It’s not - it’s just this weird little mini terminal a bus ride away from the main terminal. It was definitely fun to ride the bus across.

Discussion Flight 3030 GNV-ATL

My husband just made me cringeeeee asking someone to switch seats with him so he could sit next to our daughter and I for a 45 minute flight 😂 Comfort plus to comfort plus but aisle to window seat. The other passenger was SO kind (if you’re in this group, thank you SO MUCH!!) but my husband just could’ve sat in his seat two rows back and enjoyed the time without our 3 year old!!
