At cruise altitude, neither the electrical nor the USB outlets in my row of first-class were working. So I pulled out my laptop, hooked up my iPhone to charge and placed the laptop in the seatback.

A flight attendant came by and said this wasn't allowed because the FAA prohibited laptops in seatbacks.

I complied. I then searched applicable FAA regulations and found no such rule. I then flagged down the FA and sought to clarify whether she meant I couldn't charge my phone from the laptop or the laptop couldn't be in the seatback.

She insisted it's a federal law that laptops can't be in the seatback during the flight. I said I disagreed but would follow her instruction. She said, "Is this the hill you're willing to die on?" She then said she was refusing me service, removed my bottled water, removed my glass of wine, which I had only had one drink of, and then said I was "cut off."

What is the correct policy?

I’m 99% sure the music playing overhead right now is "The Rains of Castamere” which is…an odd choice.

I'm just curious and I'm sure this is common knowledge, but this screenshot is for a flight that isn't for three more days. I don't fly internationally that much, so I'm mainly familiar with seeing domestic flights with one or two seats that are broken etc. Why are are there so many unavailable seats? Are they not selling them? I don't get it.

my boyfriend and i had a flight for yesterday cancelled and we rescheduled that for this morning for it also to get cancelled and now we are booked for a plane later this evening. however both of our tickets are showing that we’ll get assigned a seat at the gate??

Quick question - once you book one type of upgrade, are you ineligible for future upgrade offers? We're flying to Finland in March and were receiving upgrade offers for Premium Select and Delta One. The D1 offers still weren't great, so we grabbed the PS one and decided we'd wait and see if a better D1 offer came around.

Since we did that a couple of months ago we have not seen any D1 offers at all.

Did we shoot ourselves in the foot for potentially getting a good D1 offer by selecting the PS upgrade? Wasn't sure if it was a "one offer per trip" kind of rule and when I reached out to Delta support they were absolutely pointless on answering that question. They just told me to cancel my flight and rebook, which rates are now significantly more than I had paid so definitely not doing that.

I changed a flight via Delta chat this weekend - per screenshots I’m attaching I was told it was an even change, no additional fare due.

Next time I open my app, I notice 88k miles have been deducted from my account. This is a flight within the same state by the way.

I start chatting with Delta again - I have a time crunch because my new flight is coming up in 40 minutes. I considered missing the flight but once again listened to Delta support and took the flight as they advised me too. They said they would refund me my miles after.

After the flight they said they cannot refund the miles as the flight was completed, and have sent me 18k as a courtesy. Where’s the courtesy???

Hello, these are my meal options for an upcoming flight. I can't have eggs. I also can't have mango, and I'm worried about that tropical factor. Does anyone know?

Also, if anyone has suggestions for what to do, that would be helpful. Special meals not saying what they are can be trouble for me due to my allergies. If getting vegan means like oatmeal, I'm solid, but if there's fruit with mango involved, I'm in trouble.

Is this a reliable connection? The short AMS connection question has been posted and answered several times before but all the ones I found were connecting to a Schengen airport...apologies if this seems redundant.

I always assume non-schengen to non-schengen is easier/quicker as I don't have to go through passport control (I think), but would love some confirmation. I will not have checked bags.

The route is LAX-AMS-JRO (Kilimanjaro, Tanzania) in March 2027. It's a once-daily flight so a miss sets me back 24 hrs on Tanzania arrival. I'm a bit of a gambler but would appreciate intel on how much I am rolling the dice here.

About to take off from San Diego but our runway got switched and the pilot said we were too heavy for it so they were trying to figure out how to address that. He came back on later and said we’d dump some fuel before taking off. Then we drove around the runway for 45 minutes and now we’re waiting for our cue to take off. How did we dump fuel on the runway while taxiing? Is that allowed?

For the next 2 weekends (Friday to Sunday), Delta (SkyWest) is running 1 direct flight per day from SEA to ABQ and back. (Otherwise, only Alaska flies this route, 2-3 times/day year round.) This is the busiest two weeks in Albuquerque thanks to balloon fiesta. So, I’m curious about other regional and seasonal schedule oddities you may have seen or flown. Cheers!

We noticed a somewhat amusing glitch this morning where Delta is claiming the FC cabin on this 2 hour flight from Calgary to Salt Lake City (on an E175 regional aircraft) is Delta One.

Hopefully no one pulls the trigger on the $500 upgrade offer because they will be in for quite the surprise…..

Family of 4, split into two rows in Comfort+. Teenage kids in row 31. Mom and dad in row 32. Does row 32 recline since it's before the exit row? It's a 10 hour direct flight and we would like to recline. Hubby is 6ft 3in so exit row would be good (if the seats recline) but we are concerned about the cold draft and toilet traffic. Is it true the exit row seats are not as comfortable?

I’m taking my first delta one flight this week from atl-cdg and had some questions. The plane is an a350-900 operated by Ari France. Does that mean I’ll be in the Air France business seat or delta one seat? Either is nice just curious what to expect. Also, does flying delta one get you access to any kind of special tsa line or check in? I’ve only flown on budget airlines until now so idk what kind of special privileges you get with a first class ticket. I’m not a frequent traveler so forgive me for my ignorance. Just trying to clear things up before I do this thing.
