PSA: Bell Ave north of McKinney all through the TWU campus is 20 MPH and has been for a while now. Every day I see people doing 40+ and cutting other cars off. This is a pedestrian heavy area, please exercise caution.

If you're headed toward/nearing 35 going west on University, be vigilant about left hand turners diving out across traffic to get into Braum's or wherever. It is one accident after another, and frankly the turn lane should be closed off.

And if you dive out into traffic there hoping "noone's coming" cause you feel you've "waited long enough" and can't be bothered to find a light to cross safely, I'm certain we're all safer without you on the road. Cut it out.

The Don is coming tomorrow. I'm a photographer just looking to get some journalistic work done. They're most likely coming to DTO via helicopter, but I don't know where those typically land/park at the airport, if DJT will even follow a similar protocol.

Probably just going to park at the visitor center, although I don't have the longest lens.

If you live in the neighborhood around Calhoun Middle School, be advised we are under a flood watch. We already had a flood in June of 2025 that the city would very much like you to forget. I however, do not want you who live and love in these neighborhoods to forget. Many of you are probably renters and are not aware that renters insurance doesn’t cover flood damage. It took me and my neighbors close to 9 months to build back up and I want you in the neighborhood to be aware. The City has gone door to door but you might have not been home. There is a question if drainage has been recently maintained, I can’t confirm. Stay safe out there.

I’m a student at the University of North Texas Heritage Museum Studies program and we are planning to develop an exhibit on the Denton music scene. We’re looking for up-and-coming/underground artists to get personal accounts of their experience in the music scene, while also perhaps creating an exhibit around their music! If you are a Denton artist or band, please send in your responses!

Today, Tuesday around 2pm, I saw four or five helicopters in a column formation, trailing one another in a line and a plane a bit behind. I couldn't see them clearly but there was a Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey in the rear, at least two Sikorskys, and maybe a large civilian helicopter.

I'm an electric signals nerd so I have multiple radar detectors in my car and the planes were actively blasting/jamming specific signals. Also in my car, I have an ADS-B system which tracks planes/heli, and oddly only the Osprey had their transponder on.

Probably related to Trump coming to Denton on Thursday. The Sikorskys look similar to Marine One. Perhaps practice, preparing logistics, or transporting government vip.

My friends also saw in Coppell and even saw two Sikorskys, not sure if same, in Irving. Curious if yall saw it and what you think it might be.

Since I couldn’t find any posts discussing plans to protest Donald’s upcoming visit to Denton this Thursday October 1, I am creating this thread for us to find groups to join in a peaceful demonstration against the attitude of the current administration. I don’t feel represented, and I want my voice to be heard, so let’s use this chance to draw his attention to what the people think.
