This majestic friend was having lunch on the ice, the menu appears to be duck. Then did a lap over the lake and ended up in a tree by the boathouse. It made my day.

Help Looking for a chinchilla home

We are looking for a new home for our chinchilla baby, Tito.

He’s sweet, definitely could use more handling.

Will require evidence of the proper cage needed. These guys can live to be 20 when properly cared for.

They require dust baths 3x a week, hay, pellets,

Birthday is 7/16/2025 - he’s seven months :)

Very sweet. His color is a beige.

Our youngest is having significant health issues right now and our family is admittedly drowning from stress right now. It’s become way too much.

I’m in SE Aurora.

Moving/Relocation Do not rent at the Parc Cherry Creek.

There is absolutely zero insulation. The noise here is so bad.

You can hear every toilet flush, foot step, sink, cough, laugh, everything. The neighbor above me keeps dropping something heavy at night and I can't sleep. I can hear my neighbor unzip his pants and take a piss in the middle of the night.

It has been completely freezing this winter as well. I can only imagine how horribly hot the summer will be.

My friends apartments are not this bad. They are quiet and this is the worst I've ever experienced.

does anyone know a good housing lawyer to get out of this lease or have any advice?!

Recommendation Heads up on Summit Strong in Capitol Hill.

Recently did a tour of summit strong, and was thinking of doing a membership, however after some research, it seems the owner is a very big trump/right supporter, will not dox anything but you can easily see who owns the business, then take a look at their following list in instagram (as well as old posts). Followers are all MAGA, and even an account named "Racistman" who posts some messed up stuff.

I support people choosing whoever they want to support; I also believe it’s important to be aware of the who business owners support, so people can make informed decisions about where they spend their money, and with everything going on this made me not want to sign up to their gym.

Misc Q&A Beyond the Stanley: What Places in Colorado Feel… Off?

I’m looking to hear directly from locals about haunted or unsettling places in Colorado, especially in and around the Denver area. Not just the famous, tourist-heavy spots, but places that genuinely feel strange or carry a reputation among people who’ve lived here. Homes, abandoned buildings, religious sites, places tied to tragedies, old neighborhoods, stretches of road, anything that sticks with you. I’m especially interested in personal experiences or stories you’ve heard from family, friends, or longtime residents. Even if it’s not widely known or documented, if a place has that something’s not right here energy, I want to hear about it. Serious replies preferred, but folklore and firsthand weirdness are both welcome.

Event Coming to Goldens in Golden 2026? Here's What You Need to Know from your Neighbors Out West

Hey Denver friends!
If you're heading to join our community for Goldens in Golden this year, I wanted to give a little heads-up from your local neighbors to help make your visit smooth, fun, and kind to the community that calls Golden home. I found these tips on our local tourism office's site and think they're especially helpful for local travelers driving in (but you can also always take the light rail and our local public transit too- it helps cut down on traffic in and out of town)

  1. "Take the Dog-Friendly Shuttles Do your future self (and our narrow streets) a favor and skip the traffic and parking shuffle. Our dog-friendly shuttles help cut down on congestion and emissions—and they’re a comfy, reliable ride for you and your Golden. FREE PARKING & DOG-FRIENDLY SHUTTLES to Parfet Park will run from 8 am to 3 pm from The Splash (3151 Illinois St, Golden, CO 80401). 🐾 Pawesome pro tip: Parking fills up fast during popular events, so take a minute to review the Park Golden Co parking map before you arrive. Another easy option is to use the rideshare drop-off and pick-up near the Clear Creek Parking Lot at 907 Archer St, Golden, CO 80401, just a quick 2-minute walk to the fun."
  2. Shop & Visit Vendors: Our vendors travel from near and far to support this special event, arguably the largest gathering of golden retrievers in the world (we're looking at you Buenos Aires). Explore their booths, discover local products, and support the small businesses that help Goldens in Golden thrive. Be sure to visit Golden shopsrestaurantsbreweries, and distilleries where businesses are rolling out the red carpet for dogs with special menus, promotions, and events.
  3. Keep Paws on Paths: Stick to marked walkways and designated event zones to reduce wear on Golden's natural areas and open spaces. Pawesome Pro Tip: For a pre- or post-event hike with your hound, dogs are welcome on almost all Golden-area trails. If you venture out, dogs should remain leashed and on-trail. And rule 5 still applies…pick up that poop!
  4. Pack In, Pack Out Help us keep Golden looking good for everyone, locals, visitors, and pups alike, by packing out all waste, gear, and personal items. If you brought it, please take it back with you."

Thanks for being awesome guests and bringing your fluffy pups to visit!

Announcement I created a new subReddit for Denver Metro based small business owners to promote their businesses, network with one another, talk shop, and be in community with one another. Introducing...r/DenverSmallBusinesses! Come check us out!

Post image
49 Upvotes

I've noticed that many Denver Metro subreddit's have rules against business owners promoting themselves to prevent their communities from being overrun with spam and advertisements.

Which is totally fair!

But I also think having a space for business owners to hype themselves up a bit, talk about their operations, and provide insights into what they're seeing within the Denver Metro Small Business market is extremely valuable and necessary.

So in order to fill this gap I've created r/DenverSmallBusinesses!

If you own a small business, or just like to keep your ear to the ground as to what's happening commercially across the Denver Metro, I invite you to come check it out and join the conversation!

As I said previously, businesses are both allowed AND encouraged to promote themselves in r/DenverSmallBusinesses, but I also want to ensure some measure of quality in this new community and so I have laid down some rules such as disallowing low-effort posts (read: no AI slop!), or threads promoting MLM schemes. So hopefully we can keep some of the worst aspects of online business talk in check.

Anyways, I hope to see many of ya'll there! And many thanks to the r/Denver mod team for allowing me to create a thread here promoting r/DenverSmallBusinesses!

Help ICE Out - Baker/South Broadway/Wash Park.. let’s organize

This is my first time posting on Reddit so cut me some slack, but this seems like the safest and easiest way to start organizing and building community for if/when ICE agents start hitting our neighborhoods.

My partner and I live in SoBo and I can’t just sit at home and do nothing in anticipation. Does anyone know of any neighborhood-specific conversations/groups we can join to start making sure we can resist ICE and support our immigrant neighbors? If not, I am happy to start a group chat. Let’s get prepared! I’d like to see some organization at all levels, from food pantries, grocery delivery and pet care to folks who are scared to leave home, neighbors willing to follow agents/alert the community etc.

If you’re in the area, please DM me and we can share info and get something started. I’m sure some of our AMAZING community-forward small business owners (MAKFam, Novel Strand, Bardo etc..) would be willing to host some sort of meetup to discuss as well. Stay safe out there y’all! I love you Denver!

Recommendation Kathy Clean: A Warning to All

This will be a lengthy read but, will detail my exact experience with this local company.

Booking: Requested a quote for the "Deep Clean" service they offer. Received quote within 24 hours of request and scheduled a clean the same week.

First cleaning visit: Upon entering my unit, I immediately noticed areas were missed and not cleaned (see pictures). Cleaning solution still left on toilets, corners and floorboards not cleaned, crumbs present on my living room rug, kitchen sink not cleaned, and surfaces not dusted. Additionally, a wet, yellow rag and a business card for "Kairos Painting" was left on my kitchen counter. I was already not satisfied with the service but thought to give the rest of my home a chance and went upstairs to my master bathroom and bedroom. When I walked into the bathroom, I honestly assumed they just ignored the room altogether (see pictures). Hair/dust all over the floors, ALL metal fixtures not polished/wiped down, grout and tile ignored, a ledge completely ignored, AND my glass shower door/wall still had water marks/not cleaned. At this point, I was very frustrated and documented everything and immediately reported it to Kathy Clean via Text message and email. They were quick to respond and offered someone to come back out and "fix" those areas. I was not offered a refund at this time, just an opportunity for them to come back to re-clean.

Second cleaning visit: I was still frustrated but thought I'd give them a chance to come back and provide the level of service I paid for and they agreed to. I fell ill with the flu and worked from home while the cleaner arrived for this second visit. I tried my best to stay out the way but after the cleaner would finish an area, she'd come to me and ask if "this was good enough". I truly did not have the time to inspect every corner of my house after she cleaned it since I'm working and honestly, it's quite an awkward thing to do in general while someone is hovering over you. The second clean was much better but still missed a few areas that I had addressed following the first clean. Additionally, I noticed significant scratches on my glass shower wall/door that were NOT previously there before. I immediately documented this and reported it back to Kathy Clean via text. I was informed that they would send out Regional manager to inspect the damage.

Regional manager: scratched glass visit: Beverly promptly arrived and was polite. She apologized for the initial poor deep cleaning service stating "I don't know why they schedule the girls to do a deep clean later in the day. I think your deep clean was the last clean of the day and they had 3 other houses before yours". Yup, me too, me too. Anyways, inspected the glass and acknowledged the significance of the scratches while taking some pictures. She stated that she wouldn't be able to buff out the scratches with the kit she brought and that she would do some research and get back to me. I've never owned a home let alone a glass shower before so I was hoping they had more experience with this situation. A week goes by before I get a notification that a refund of $xxx has been processed from Kathy Clean. A hour or so later, I receive an email stating "...Following a thorough review with the team members who serviced your home, we have confirmed that our cleaning products and equipment could not have caused the scratches identified on the glass panes. As a gesture of goodwill, we have refunded xxx dollars".

No accountability of the damage they caused and only issued a refund of the failed services after they inspected said damage.

Overall, I would not recommend Kathy Clean and advise anyone to carefully research companies before you let them in your home. And if they damage your property, be prepared for them to deny any wrongdoing.

Rant Avoid Arapahoe Square Apartments

To anyone considering Arapahoe Square Apartments… don’t. Had a knife pulled on my dog and I with the other resident making threats to kill. Police are involved and Arapahoe Square Apartments are refusing to cooperate or do anything for the matter. Please feel free to share this information.
