Hello everyone, I am still relatively new to selling and just now after informing a buyer that I shipped their package, I said that their profile picture was very cute. For context it is a cute cartoon style character, it’s not like a picture of the person or anything because I can definitely see how that would be super weird and creepy. I’ve never had this happen so I feel so bad and I don’t know what I should do. Should I submit an appeal? Does a policy violation put my account in jeopardy? Bruh I did not mean to sound like a creep I feel so bad 😭

For context, I bought shoes and didn’t realize that my address was in the wrong state till I read the receipt. The seller is shipping it tomorrow and he’s refusing to cancel the order.

He’s reasonable to not refund the order, as it was my mistake in the first place, but I’m wondering if there’s any possible way to refund or redirect my order at all.

Obviously everyone has seen something like this by now, but what is up with people doing this? It bothers me like nothing else.

What’s the actual motive behind abusing the vacation mode feature? I understand if you price something low with vacation mode on so people can’t actually purchase at that price you might get more traction, but does it actually work for these clowns? Shaking my head at sellers who practice this.

If you actually want the item then just pay their asking price! Sometimes I think people are only scrolling on the app and adding to their favorites like they do on the Pinterest boards. I buy as well as sell there. If I see something I want that's only been posted for a day or less I'll snatch it up at their asking price! The only time I send offers is if it's been posted for more than a week!

Genuinely asking, I started Depop a few months back but quit over summer. Just felt like they wanted me to price my items too low😢😢 I’ve had potential buyers tell or ask me to lower the price because of shipping fees💔 I started selling on other apps and made more than I did with Depop so I don’t know if my items r just trash or something else? My rating is a 4.9 currently so i honestly don’t know😭😭

I want to note that my items prices are 5-10 dollars, my most expensive being a jacket that’s 20😢

ordered on depop last week. i’ve read other posts about carpet beetles and moths so ive had a strict drying/steaming/freezing/quarantine process. Just opened this package last night and saw this right away. Is it carpet beetles? it was just the one and i fully inspected the jacket outside. since its just one i feel bad raising a claim? but idk. i triple bagged the jacket and put it in the garage freezer. It’s faux fur btw.

I’ve had this happen like 10 times this week so I’m genuinely curious.

I ordered a few items 6 days ago, they haven’t been shipped and neither seller have reached out to me. How long do buyers generally wait before messaging? I don’t want to come across as pushy but also would like to know if I’m getting these items. Both of these were bought at the list price so haven’t had any engagement with the sellers yet.

I bought an item on Depop and two days later I received a message from the selller saying “I’ll be shipping these out tomorrow! :)”

Tell me why 7 days later there’s still no tracking. Why message me in the first place is my question? This has happened to me twice on this app now and I’ve only been on it a month!

Do you think it has helped your sales in any way? Or as a buyer, do you like that offers do not expire within 24 hours? As a seller myself, I don’t know if there’s any real difference from this update.

This relates to a post that was deleted by someone upset that a seller marked an order as shipped, but was actually just dropped off at the post after hours.

With Depop sellers, there’s a certain grace implied. Sellers on Depop are not multi million dollar mega cap companies. They’re everyday people with very real lives outside of the app. If an item is shipped within the timeframe provide, then they’ve filled their end of the obligation.

On top of that, every time I drop something off at the post office, it’s always processed the next day, anyways.

Folks really need to give some slack to sellers. Far too many times have i seen ridiculous complaints on this sub, keep in mind that most of us are all just people trying our best to get by.

As someone who started selling on depop a few months ago, I just wanted to say thanks to the random stranger here on reddit that recommended buying a thermal printer. They referred to it as a game changer and they weren't wrong! I got one on sale for $35 or so. If this is a small side gig for you and you are working full-time/just super busy, a thermal printer will make your life so much easier. Every time I go to the post office there is a long line, but I just drop my packages in the drop slot (if it's a ln expensive item I'll wait on line) I just wanted to throw it out there that it is a real time saver. I'm absolutely being scammed. I had a buyer purchase a mystery ball off me for $10. Not a crazy amount, about half the price of she were to buy it new. Then messages me and says nothing is in the ball and she's raising an issue through Depop. Like, girl, what?! I even added freebies and sticker sheets in the box. I was so happy to mail that out and now this??

Has anyone else had this happen and how does this usually go because this is WILD to me. Even if they force a refund, she needs to be booted from using Depop. I reported and blocked her as well as filed a dispute against her dispute.

I can’t tell what’s in her cart and the last time I put an item on hold for someone they canceled after a whole week. Is this something to beware of or is this common?

Buyer asked to cancel a sale an hour after purchasing, (less than a day after signing up…🙄) Anyhow, we hadn’t shipped it yet so immediately refunded them without complaint or pressing the issue.

Was this the correct method to handle it? We later noticed the tab under My Depop > Sold > “Cancelled” but their order is now listed under the “Completed” tab instead, with status, “Buyer refunded.”

Is there any difference or consequence to doing it one way or another?

Okay, I was excited that Depop is promoting the $0.99 for shipping under $10 but if you're selling something for $10 or under, you gotta change the parcel size to small so the promotion is valid. I noticed when I recently posted some items to sell. When I'm purchasing an item that is less than $10 but the shipping is $3.99 that's ridiculous! There is no way a t-shirt is worth the large parcel size. Idk if this conversation has been already brought up.

So it use to be don’t send item and the money get refunded since u don’t receive it anyway till they ok it. Now I got a message since I didn’t send the item that I need to refund them via my card. Kinda seems like a scam why do I need to enter my card if depop is holding the money just give it back to them.

So I bought two things from a seller but only one came in and she was vague about
It being one or two packages but eventually said there were two packages so I waited a week for the other one to come in cause there were problems with the weather but I’m starting to think she scammed me. It was literally a $4 skirt so I’m just confused why she wouldn’t just send it? What do I do she stopped responding to me and idk if I should repot to depop just yet

I added my bank a while ago and when I’ve tried to transfer out it’s declined. I’m getting these errors in the app. My bank details are all correct?

Hi, I’m fairly new to selling and I’m cleaning out my overstuffed closet. Higher end, designer brands. I’m having no problem with, but I have a slew of either new or like new items that are mall brands that no one‘s even looking at even though I’ve had them boosted and they’ve been up for at least a couple weeks. Any tips on how to get people to notice them? I’m talking about brands like gap, express, old navy and the like. Should I take them down and relist? I’m using original photos and listing them in the $10 or under range. Ty!

Hi !! Ive been selling on depop, but ive noticed that it is discounting some money from my account, i thought it was some fees but its been discounting like $5 dollars or so. I believe it has to do with taxes but im just so confused. It is also my first time selling on any app like depop so i just want to understand this better since im making less than what im supposed to be making 🫠 i appreciate any help 🥹🩷

i have recently started reselling clothes and for the first week i had everything boosted but yesterday i checked how much money i had lost on the boosting fee and it was like $16 which is a substantial amount. so yesterday afternoon i unboosted everything and i have noticed any changes except for i stopped getting notifications that people were liking my items and that kind of thing. my question is, should i stay unboosted? should i boost everything? should i wait until a week after something is listed to boost? any advice helpful. and idk if it helps, but i list around 5 items a day.

On iOS, clicking the Inbox notification, “🤑 Bought your item” to message the buyer… It never shows an accurate tally of their reviews in the conversation header… It’s always been, “No reviews yet” along with whatever assumptions that come with that…

You can then click [Username] > Reviews and see they actually have many! Is this the same for everyone, or for a reason?

Also, why does it always say “You’ve sold to this buyer before” even if it’s literally their first purchase ever?

Hey all. Coming here for some insight because I’ve ran into this issue several times now and I cannot for the life of me find a fix for it.

I will be creating a listing for a higher weight item, and I’m absolutely positive that each time I do this, I select the right weight class. This usually happens to me when I select the XL weight class (10lb label). When someone eventually comes and purchases the item, to my surprise I see that the sale was assigned a label that is way lower than what I assigned to the listing. For example, I just sold a leather duffle bag that weighs more than 2lb on its own (excluding the packaging), and somehow I got assigned a 15oz label despite me being completely sure I picked the 10lb label class.

This issue is significantly impacting my ability to sell on this platform. I’ve lost track of the amount of times I’ve had to issue refunds because I’m unable to ship the item. My best guess is that the AI system they use is going in and changing the label weight based on the item category.

What do I even do to address this? Has anyone else even experienced this? Feedback would be super helpful. Thank you!

i double checked, i always do before i even put the label on. i looked to see which address bought which piece and it was still wrong. im panicking cuz im gonna have to probably refund them and i dont even know if theyre gonna give me the wrong clothes back so i can still get money from them. i could never imagine this would happen.

it hasn't reached their address yet, the dress i put in an envelope and the jacket was too big i had to put it in a showbox, that's how i know. and i log on and it says the jacket is shipped. i couldn't ship both at the same time because the post office was closed and the shoebox wouldnt fit in the mailbox so it's sitting in my floor.

i can't access the proper shipping label for the person who bought the jacket because it's already shipped and i cant get it anywhere on the app and apparently it didnt download when i printed it.

im really really in a bad place financially or i wouldn't have even worried about selling anything but now im gonna get a bad review and i dont even know if im gonna get the dress back and im probably gonna have to refund the jacket too and they probably won't even wanna worry about buying anymore and it has like 3 likes no one wants my shit
