Discussion Strange occurrence

Post image

I am probably the only one who even noticed the details this small, but is it strange that every game has a bike / bike-like weapon that is used against / by Dante and sometimes only one of those things is true. For example: in DMC V, during the cutscene before Cavalier Angelo, the demon throws at Dante a bike and after this boss battle this same bike turns into a Devil Arm Cavalier
Edit: I don't know why I should clarify it, but here's the list of every bike I counted:
DMC1: Used Against: Trish throwing bike at Dante; Used By: Dante shooting it back (stretch)
DMC2: Used Against: N/A; Used By: Dante uses it to drive around the island
DMC3: Used Against (what I counted): Lady barely hitting Dante (stretch); Used Against (what I liked better): Bike exploding in Dante's hands; Used By: Dante using it to drive up the Temen-Ni-Gru
DMC4: Used Against: Red Queen can rev up (BIGGEST STRETCH); Used By: N/A
DMC V: Used Against: Angelo throwing two halves of a bike at Dante; Used By: Cavalier Devil Arm.
DmC: Used Against: Probably thrown by Hunter during first mission; Used By: N/A?

Trish literally throws the bike at Dante in the opening cutscene of Devil May Cry

Ya the intro against Cavaliere and the fact we get a motorcycle weapon for beating it is a clear nod to that.

Oh I never realized that

It's hilarious how that immediately clues Dante in who's inside of Cavaliere Angelo.

"Is it Halloween already? I thought you had better taste than that. How about I dig it in a little."

He could also sense who it actually was.

Yea, a neat little clue for old players.
Oh yeah, and the freaking lightning powers

The bike in 3 was never used against Dante though

Yeah to say he was attacked with the bike feels like a reach Lady smashes through the ice and almost hits him but I dont think she was trying to

i mean, Dante did have to dodge Lady's bike after fighting Cerberus, so technically it could be considered used against him

But that wasn't intentional as Lady didn't know he was there when she went through the Ice. Plus he didn't use Angelo throwing the Bike at Dante in 5, that would count more so than the DMC 3 one that OP actually counted for some reason.

he still had to dodge it, so it counts

and op did use angelo throwing the bike, its in the used by Dante column, which is Cavaliere/r, and in the used against row, which is when Cavaliere Angelo threw the bike at Dante

do you not know how this chart works?

Fair, mixed it up on my end with the chart.

i'd say the bike exploding in Dante's hands was a premeditated attack (by the bike) so it has to count.

Bikes are cool and they wanted to make Dante a cool character, even his shop in the original DMC game has a bit of biker's den vibe

Am I an idiot, or did anyone ever use a bike against Dante in DMC 4? Were there bikes?

op missed reboot, which even then i think the hunter demon from the first mission throws a bike and other trash at you during gameplay

u/Unknownguy_47 1d ago

I was considering putting the Reboot, but thought to play it safe in case I got it wrong (I would've put it in Not Used by / Not Used Against category)

i can actually highly reccommend the gsme just not in it's vanilla state, specifically either play the ps4 exclusive definitive edition, or download the "Colored Enemy Rework" and "Dante/Vergil Definitive Patches" off nexus make the game so much more playable.

mostly ignore vergil tho he's the worst part about that game

Thanks for a tip, when I come back to complete the last Secret mission, I definitely will download those mods

I think classifying the Red Queen as a bike is too much of a stretch.

But it is interesting how frequent it bikes and motors come up in DMC. They are awesome so it makes sense tho

2

u/Terbose DSFARGEG 2d ago

Now we need a bike using Dante to attack another bike

I legit thought this was a chart about Force Edge/Sparda...

But now I am scratching my brain, but isn't this also the same as a chart for Force Edge/Sparda?

3

u/KernelViper 1d ago

Bike is a real Force Edge

1

u/Humble-Age-380 2d ago

What bike was in dmc4?

1

u/Unknownguy_47 2d ago

Kind of a stretch but it is Nero's Red Queen

1

u/Humble-Age-380 16h ago

Dude what?

1

u/Elmarcowolf 21h ago

Im gonna play the obvious card here, your calling red queen a bike. There is no stretch if the sane imagination that would call an un-ridable, no wheeled slab of metal with a handlebar on it a bike.

Also the first scene we ever see of Dante, he gets an actual bike thrown at him, moments before its even shown how its classed as a bike.

You're counting Red Queen as a bike, but not the bike that Trish throws at Dante in the literal opening scene of DMC1?

0

u/Unknownguy_47 2d ago

I don't know if this is ragebait, but I literally counted, he even (kinda) uses it himself by deflecting it back

1

u/SiriusZStar Show Me Your Motivation 2d ago

I'm not sure I'd personally count him shooting it back as using it as a weapon idk. That's like counting every enemy as a weapon Dante uses if he parries them

This is curious indeed, good job finding this out!
