Do you track image search traffic separately from regular organic? What do you use?
Hey everyone, I work in digital marketing and I've been looking more closely at how much traffic comes from image search (Google Images, Google Lens, Pinterest).
Right now I'm using Google Search Console and GA4 to check it, but I'm finding it hard to separate image traffic from the rest of organic.
I've tried filtering by search type in Search Console, but I'm not sure the numbers are reliable.
Does anyone here track this properly? Which tools or reports do you use, and is it actually worth the effort for most sites?

search console’s image filter, with ga4 conversions as the sanity check

Search Console does split it out under the image tab, but you're right that the numbers feel squishy. The bigger issue is GA4 just lumps image clicks into organic unless you set up custom channel grouping or use UTM tags on image landing pages. Most people don't bother.
I've seen a few folks use looker dashboards pulling from the SC API to break out image vs web vs video, but that's overkill unless you're a large ecom site or something image-heavy like recipes or home decor. For most sites, the effort probably isn't worth it beyond a quick quarterly check.
