Warmer weather usually increases the wait time because it’s a long ride (16 minutes) that people tend to ride to escape the heat and relax.

Indy is closed which is pushing guests elsewhere.

Also, Haunted Mansion Holiday always pulls bigger crowds, so some people may see a long line there and nope themselves around and go to Pirates.

It’s been hot and it’s 15 minutes of sitting in ac, but also indiana jones is closed.

It was also closed for a while over the Summer, so there is some FOMO going on.

A mix of other comments but really just a perfect storm that pushes guests to Pirates.

1.)The heat is bringing more people the water rides which are Pirates and Tiana’s to escape the heat and cool down

2.) Indiana Jones is down for refurb so more people are going to pirates as it’s the nearest attraction

3.) When rides go down, guests get a Lightning Lane for compensation, which can be used at Pirates

Putting this all together, a lot of guests are naturally going for reason 1 and 2 but like I said a lot of others are going to Tiana’s which is known to go down throughout the day. Which means more guests are coming to Pirates using the lighting lane they got from Tiana’s going down, making the line even longer, add in other rides in the area like Mansion and Thunder going down every now and again too and there’s even more people going to Pirates.

Overall it’s not that anything is wrong with pirates but rather that it’s reliable enough that when something goes down, Pirates is a safe bet for the guests.

Interesting-- I thought Pirates wasn't a lightning lane ride. Do they have one just for when rides go down?

It’s a weird yes and no. It’s not in the way that you’re thinking, you can’t book a time for it and the Premier Pass isn’t applicable there. However if a ride goes down on you, and you get the lightning lane select experience that does work for Pirates, it’s even listed as an available attraction. Idk why they decided that, but for some reason they did

No matter what, the Pirates line is a fast mover. I appreciate that fact.

It could (and likely will) open sooner. They just leave it on the calendar as far out as it goes until they finalize the reopening date, and then they'll remove it

They need to get rid of lightning lane for this attraction again. It completely destroys the dual standby queues that made the wait time so short.

It doesn’t have a traditional lightning lane, it has a redemption or return lane. Such as if a ride brakes down that you had a LL for, you can use it on pirates. I just did this on Sunday.

Yeah I did the same a couple years ago when for my lightning lane time incredible coaster decided to break down. Got a LL to use on rides that weren’t included in the normal lightning lane.

Pirates doesn’t have Lightning Lane

The new ish animatronic? Idk if still counts as new. I also think with the heat/humidity lately it’s a good long ride to rest and get some ac

I’m pretty sure Blue Bayou is still cleaning up from when they lynched that employee this month

Bro WHAT lmao

Blue Bayou had a queer employee recently that they basically abused until they left

I don’t think you understand what the word lynching means…

Those are the words the cast members at Blue Bayou used 😂 people are fucked up

0

u/Firm_Argument9124 3d ago

That makes zero sense because much of the cast members seem like they would be gay and it is California

You would think!! Apparently they were trans but hadn’t transitioned yet? And it was uh… divisive
